Launch of French Language website for Vietnamese users: French Embassy

WVR - On November 20, the French Embassy in Vietnam officially launched the Tiếng Pháp Plus website. This comprehensive digital tool provides complete information on learning, teaching, and career opportunities related to the French language in Vietnam.

The event was attended by Mr. Soulier Eric Gabriel Michel, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities at the French Embassy in Vietnam, Director of the French Institute in Vietnam; Mr. Arnaud Pannier, Attaché for Educational Cooperation at the French Embassy in Vietnam; Ms. Pauline Vidal, Head of Education and Digital Technology at the French Embassy in Vietnam; along with representatives from partner organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and the Francophone community in Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Soulier Eric Gabriel Michel, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities at the French Embassy in Vietnam, Director of the French Institute in Vietnam, shared that the Tiếng Pháp Plus project is part of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and France, demonstrating a commitment to the development of the French language in Vietnam. According to him, Vietnam has made significant contributions to strengthening the image and presence of the Francophone community in the Asia-Pacific region.

“This platform clearly demonstrates the determination of the French Embassy and the French Institute in Vietnam to leverage digital technology for linguistic cooperation, connecting teachers, students, families, and businesses with a common goal: to prove that French is a language offering many opportunities in Vietnam and around the world,” Mr. Soulier Eric stated.

Additionally, Mr. Arnaud Pannier, Attaché for Educational Cooperation at the French Embassy in Vietnam, highlighted the development of French teaching programs within Vietnam’s education system and significant changes in bilateral cooperation policies between the two countries in the field of education.

Regarding the Tiếng Pháp Plus website, he affirmed that it is a tool to facilitate students and parents in accessing French more conveniently and promoting French teaching activities. Thus, Tiếng Pháp Plus is expected to become a hub for the entire French teaching ecosystem, welcoming anyone interested in teaching and learning this language in Vietnam.

Further discussing the website, Ms. Pauline Vidal, Head of Education and Digital Technology at the French Embassy in Vietnam, explained that the Tiếng Pháp Plus platform is designed to create a bilingual environment, prioritizing Vietnamese to directly reach parents and students. It helps Vietnamese people navigate learning French and introduces cultural, academic, and career opportunities that the French language offers in Vietnam.

According to Ms. Pauline Vidal, the website comprises three main sections: the information section, which posts news, events, and community shares from the Francophone community; the study orientation section, providing maps of training institutions, scholarship information, and study abroad guidance; and the career orientation section, focusing on job and internship opportunities, along with profiles to connect candidates with businesses. Besides the official website, Tiếng Pháp Plus also expands and maintains supplementary communication channels on platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

The Tiếng Pháp Plus project also collaborates closely with leading language education institutions in Vietnam. At the ceremony, Dr. Đặng Thị Việt Hòa, Head of the French Department, Hanoi University, expressed delight that this platform helps students access information about scholarships and job opportunities, considering it a significant motivation for learning and career development for students in the French Department.

Dr. Trần Hoài Anh, lecturer at the Department of French Language and Culture, University of Languages and International Studies (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), noted that the website is a practical tool supporting both lecturers, students, and parents. She emphasized that the platform provides reliable information on internships, jobs, scholarships, training courses, and Francophone events, while also offering opportunities for students to develop careers in French. For parents, Tiếng Pháp Plus helps track their children's learning progress, find schools, and access supplementary resources.

During the ceremony, guests watched a video introducing the website. It is described as an intuitive, user-friendly tool designed specifically for Vietnamese users. In the future, the Tiếng Pháp Plus digital ecosystem promises to become a crucial connection point, opening broader opportunities for the Francophone community in Vietnam.

The ceremony took place in a formal atmosphere, attended by representatives from agencies, educational institutions, businesses, and the Francophone community in Vietnam. Notably, the event was held on the International Day of French Teachers and Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20).
