| The seminar “Effective AI Application in Classroom Management” and the Launch Ceremony of "Khanmigo — an AI teaching assistant for Vietnamese teachers". |
Taking place during the month celebrating Vietnamese Teachers' Day, the event is seen as a special tribute to the millions of teachers nationwide who continuously strive to innovate teaching methods, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of Vietnamese education in the digital era.
At the ceremony, Khanmigo - a specialised AI teaching assistant developed by Khan Academy for education will officially launch its Vietnamese version, tailored to fit the educational and cultural context of Vietnam. The application is expected to become a “Smart Companion Assistant” for teachers, aiding in lesson planning, suggesting teaching methods, building questions and exercises, and providing personalised learning feedback for students.
Notably, representatives from the Department of Teachers and Educational Administrators (Ministry of Education and Training), the Departments of Education and Training, and the Vietnam Foundation will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the application of AI in teacher training and the deployment of Khanmigo in Vietnam. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration in applying AI technology in teaching activities, supporting teachers in improving digital capabilities and implementing personalised teaching, especially in the context of promoting English as a second language in schools.
The event will be attended by leaders from the Ministry of Education and Training, representatives from various departments and units, as well as leaders from the Departments of Education and Training, along with numerous delegates from universities, educational institutions, educational organisations, and domestic enterprises. Through this activity, the organising units affirm their commitment to accompany the Ministry of Education and Training in implementing Resolution 71, aiming towards fundamental and comprehensive innovation in Vietnamese education by applying artificial intelligence in teaching and educational management.
Within the framework of the event, the discussion “Effective AI Application in Classroom Management” will be held with the participation of leading education experts and managers such as Prof. Dr. Ho Tu Bao, Director of the Data Science Laboratory, VIASM; Dr. Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Administrators, Ministry of Education and Training; Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education; Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences (VNIES); MSc. Chu Hai Yen, Teacher at the Secondary School for Foreign Languages, University of Languages and International Studies, and Dr. Do Ngoc Minh, The Vietnam Foundation.
The speakers will share in-depth insights into the role of AI in education, the potential application of Khanmigo in Vietnamese classrooms, as well as the direction of cooperation between units to spread this tool to teachers nationwide.
The discussion also opens a space for direct exchange between experts and teachers, where teachers can ask questions, share concerns, and discuss opportunities and challenges in applying artificial intelligence in teaching in general and using Khanmigo in particular. This is expected to be an open and substantive forum, helping Vietnamese teachers approach AI proactively, safely, and effectively.
According to Mr. Le Minh Ha, Executive Director of VIASM, Deputy Head of the National Key Program on Mathematics Development 2021-2030 of the Ministry of Education and Training: The application of artificial intelligence in teaching in general and mathematics teaching, in particular, is considered one of the key solutions to improve the quality of mathematics education, especially supporting teachers in personalizing the learning process for students at all levels.
Mr. Le Minh Ha shared: “Khanmigo is not only a teaching support tool in general, but for mathematics, Khanmigo is also a bridge helping students approach mathematics more naturally and interestingly. This aligns entirely with the Mathematics Program's orientation toward sustainably developing all three areas: research, application, and training. Recently, many AI tools have been introduced to support student learning as well as the design and construction of lessons and learning programs for teachers. However, classroom management support tools for teachers are still relatively few and have many limitations. With Khanmigo, we can perform this work systematically and reliably.”
Sharing about the significance of the event, Dr. Do Ngoc Minh, representative of the Organising Committee, stated: “The launch of Khanmigo in Vietnam not only brings a modern technological tool but also demonstrates our strong commitment to supporting teachers in innovating teaching methods, helping students learn more effectively in the digital era.”
