Ministry of Foreign Affairs appoints Deputy Director General of APEC 2027 National Secretariat
WVR - On March 10, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Member of the Party Committee's Standing Committee and Deputy Minister of Foreign AffairsNguyen Minh Hang,, presented the Decision to appoint the Deputy Director of the APEC 2027 National Secretariat.

According to the decision, former Minister Counselor, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Vietnamese Delegation in Geneva (Switzerland) Cung Duc Han has concluded his term and returned to Vietnam. He is seconded to work at the APEC 2027 National Secretariat as Deputy Director General.
Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Party Committee's Standing Committee and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang congratulated Deputy Director General Cung Duc Han. In a period marked by complex global and regional developments, and numerous challenges to multilateralism, he successfully completed his term as Minister Counselor, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Vietnamese Delegation in Geneva (Switzerland).

The Deputy Minister urged Deputy Director General Cung Duc Han, in his new role, to maintain his political integrity, discipline, and standards as a foreign affairs officer. He should also foster innovative thinking, management skills, coordination, and strengthen collaboration between internal and external units of the Ministry.
Highlighting Vietnam's preparation to host APEC 2027, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of early, thorough, and synchronized preparation in terms of personnel, content, protocol, and logistics. This ensures that national-level diplomatic activities within the APEC framework are conducted with proper ceremony, security, and effective management. This effort will enhance Vietnam's reputation, position, and multilateral coordination capabilities.

In his acceptance speech, Deputy Director Geneal Cung Duc Han expressed his honour upon completing his term in Geneva, a vibrant and challenging diplomatic arena.
He stated that as Deputy Director General of the APEC 2027 National Secretariat, he recognizes the great honour and the significant responsibilities it entails. He affirmed his commitment to fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Ministry, viewing the successful organization of APEC 2027 as a collective mission of the entire Foreign Affairs sector.
