Speaking with World & Vietnam Report about citizen protection amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Nguyen Thanh Diep, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE and concurrently to Jordan, stated that in response to the regional tensions, the Embassy has closely monitored the situation, maintained regular communication channels, and proactively informed the Vietnamese community in the UAE and Jordan about regional developments and issued early warnings.
According to Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Diep, the Vietnamese community in the UAE currently numbers over 4,000, residing and working in various emirates, primarily in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
In Jordan, there is one family (Vietnamese wife, Jordanian husband, and five children). So far, the Vietnamese communities in both countries remain safe.
The Embassy has continuously posted safety advisories on social media accounts (Facebook) and phone applications (Whatsapp), shared information, provided updates, and urged the community to be prepared for adverse situations. Additionally, they can contact the Embassy's citizen protection hotline for further guidance and support if needed.
The Embassy has convened with the Community Liaison Committee to inform, disseminate, discuss, and plan for potential developments.
