In the context of deepening international integration, foreign language proficiency has become a “passport” to open up opportunities for global learning, employment, and cultural exchange.
Aligning with the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW by the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, Hanoi Education Investment and Development Corporation (HEID) – a member unit of Vietnam Education Publishing House – has developed an educational ecosystem to support the teaching of the Global Success series.
Notably, the GlobalSpeak application is highly appreciated by many teachers for its compatibility with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and its alignment with the 2018 General Education Program.
An International-standard Textbook close to Vietnamese learners
Since being approved by the Ministry of Education and Training and officially introduced into teaching, the Global Success textbook series has been rapidly deployed across provinces and cities nationwide.
This series is compiled by Vietnam Education Publishing House in collaboration with two renowned global publishers: Macmillan Education (for primary education) and Pearson Education (for secondary and high school education).
The standout feature of Global Success is its design according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) – an international standard for assessing foreign language proficiency.
The lesson structure is built on a competency development process: Recognition – Practice – Creative Application, helping students develop the four skills of listening – speaking – reading – writing, along with the 4Cs competencies (Critical thinking – Creativity – Communication – Collaboration).
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung, an English teacher at a secondary school in Hanoi, what she values most about Global Success is the clear lesson structure with specific objectives for each skill. Students not only learn English but also develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills – essential competencies for 21st-century citizens.
Another advantage of the series is its ability to connect language with life skills and digital citizenship. The topics are integrated in a relatable and timely manner, enabling students to learn English through real-life situations, thus transforming the language into a tool for communication and integration, rather than just a subject for exams.
“Moreover, the progress-oriented assessment system is embedded throughout each lesson unit, allowing teachers to observe the learning process and identify each student's strengths and areas for improvement. This makes teaching more personalized and humane, igniting intrinsic motivation and helping each student maximize their potential,” Ms. Nhung affirmed.

Developing linguistic reflexes through digital technology
Within the educational ecosystem accompanying the textbook series, GlobalSpeak is considered a “digital assistant” for teachers and students. The application, designed by HEID, closely follows the content of Global Success, ensuring compatibility with the CEFR framework and adjustments suitable for the 2018 General Education Program, helping Vietnamese learners access an international English learning model effectively and familiarly.
With GlobalSpeak, each classroom lesson expands into an interactive learning experience. Students can practice native pronunciation through Speech Recognition technology, engage in dialogues simulating real-life scenarios, complete online exercises, and receive instant feedback.
From his perspective, Mr. Pham Van Son, an English teacher at a secondary school in Da Nang, shared: “GlobalSpeak helps students practice language reflexes more naturally. They listen, speak, read, and write on a digital platform, receive pronunciation corrections, and are graded directly. It’s an active learning method that truly engages them.”
Not only students but teachers also receive substantial support through the online class and lesson management system. The application offers a rich repository of educational materials, including videos, images, tests, flashcards, and language games, enabling teachers to easily tailor teaching activities to suit different proficiency groups.
A distinctive feature of GlobalSpeak is its ability to develop language reflexive thinking through technology. The application is designed with a learning-by-doing approach, helping students form the habit of using English in real communication contexts.
Each exercise in GlobalSpeak is structured progressively from A1 to B2 levels, corresponding to the CEFR framework. This allows learners to systematically progress from familiarizing themselves with basic vocabulary and structures to expressing, debating, and creatively using the language.
Notably, the application also integrates scenario-based learning, where students are placed in real-life contexts such as job interviews, traveling, shopping, or participating in community activities. This links language proficiency with cultural, communicative, and integrative competencies, embodying the spirit of “learning to do – learning to live together – learning to assert oneself.”
According to Ms. Tran Minh Ha, an English teacher in Bac Ninh, “Students really enjoy the interactive dialogues in GlobalSpeak. When practicing, they feel like they are talking to real people. I’ve noticed a significant increase in students’ confidence and language reflexes after just a few weeks.”

From teaching aid to digital transformation platform
GlobalSpeak is not just a support tool but is becoming a platform for digital transformation in foreign language teaching and learning in Vietnam.
The Global Success – GlobalSpeak ecosystem bridges the gap between traditional textbooks and advanced educational technology, bringing English teaching and learning closer to international standards.
HEID stated that in the future, the company will continue to expand GlobalSpeak's features, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to suggest personalized learning paths, score speaking exercises according to CEFR criteria, and develop an open educational resource repository to facilitate better sharing and collaboration among teachers.
Notably, GlobalSpeak is highly regarded by teachers in various localities for its practicality, ease of use, and effectiveness. Many schools in rural and mountainous areas have begun implementing the application, providing students with the opportunity to access an international standard English learning environment.
In the comprehensive and fundamental reform of education, integrating technology into foreign language teaching is not only an inevitable trend but also a strategic solution to realize the goal of “making English the second language in schools” as outlined in Resolution 71.
With the Global Success textbook series and GlobalSpeak application, HEID and Vietnam Education Publishing House are contributing to building an internationally standardized, culturally rich English learning ecosystem in Vietnam.
This is not just a leap in educational technology but also a testament to the vision of “learner-centered” education, aiming for a generation of Vietnamese students confident in integration, mastering knowledge, and shaping the future.
