| The graduation ceremony for the first nursing course of 30 out of 150 Vietnamese students at IMC Krems University, Austria. |
The ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang, Lower Austria's Minister for Education and Social Affairs Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, Mayor of Krems Peter Molnar, and Chairman of the IMC Krems University Council Heinz Boyer.
The project, offering full scholarships to train 150 Vietnamese nursing students, is the first key initiative of Lower Austria and across Austria to gradually meet the rapidly increasing demand for healthcare personnel due to an aging population.
This project is a collaboration between IMC Krems University and Hanoi University, following a model where students are selected and trained to achieve B2-level German proficiency in Vietnam, then pursue a year of intensive nursing studies at IMC Krems according to Austrian healthcare standards, with practical training at healthcare facilities in Lower Austria.
Upon graduation, 100% of the students are guaranteed employment with local-equivalent income at hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state.

Minister Christiane and Markus Golla, Director of the International Nursing and Care Training Center at IMC Krems University, emphasized that this is the most advanced, high-quality, and comprehensive nursing training and recruitment model in Europe today.
The project's goal is to train nurses who are not only skilled but also proficient in German and well-versed in the local culture and character. Vietnamese students are praised for being intelligent, diligent, friendly, and professional, fully developed, and well-integrated, making them a valuable skilled workforce alongside approximately 4,000 nurses currently working in the state.
IMC Krems University plans to expand its training to include nurses in the future.

In his congratulatory speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang praised the efforts of the Vietnamese students and the faculty, considering this a successful and correct start for the project. He noted that it opens up many new opportunities for skilled labor cooperation and vocational training between Vietnam and Lower Austria in particular, and Austria in general, especially in fields where Vietnamese labor has strengths and Austria has high demand, such as nursing, hospitality management, information technology, mechanics, construction, and agriculture.
This is also a successful realization of the Vietnam-Austria Skilled Labor and Training Cooperation Forum held in Krems, Austria, in December 2025.
