In the warm and vibrant atmosphere of welcoming the traditional Tet holiday, international friends and community members joined in the drum beats and Lion Dance to wish for a peaceful, prosperous, and lucky new year.

Additionally, all attendees reflected on Vietnam's diplomatic achievements over the past year, spreading pride in a Vietnam confidently stepping into a new era of national growth.

In his welcoming and opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang affirmed that the Vietnamese community abroad, particularly in Austria, is an inseparable part of the nation, serving as a vital resource and knowledge base for the country's development.

Therefore, Homeland Spring is a special event that always receives attention from Party and State leaders, aiming to strengthen community bonds, preserve national traditions, and provide an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese to connect with their homeland and roots.

On this occasion, the Ambassador highlighted some of Vietnam's notable socio-economic achievements in 2025 and major orientations approved by the 14th Party Congress.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria is always a common home for the Vietnamese community in Austria. In 2025, the Embassy received enthusiastic support from the community, contributing to deepening Vietnam-Austria friendship and enhancing community work effectiveness.

The group of intellectuals in Austria actively participated in events such as the Technology Forum and the Vietnam-Austria Labor and Vocational Training Forum organized by the Embassy, offering proposals to promote scientific and technological cooperation and innovation for Vietnam.

In community work, on August 16, 2025, the Vietnamese Community Liaison Committee in Austria was established, symbolizing unity and collaboration for a stronger, more successful community, positively contributing to the host country's socio-economic development.

Activities focusing on homeland, traditional education, and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity, such as fundraising to support disaster recovery in Vietnam, making Tet sticky rice cakes, teaching Vietnamese to children, and organizing Ao Dai parades, continue to be effectively maintained by the community and associations.

Additionally, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang presented flowers to congratulate the launch of the Community Liaison Committee and awarded certificates for disaster relief support from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the community for their ongoing support of the Embassy over the past year and hoped to continue receiving the affection and support of the Vietnamese community in Austria to further enhance "national unity, compatriot love", contributing to a strong and prosperous Vietnam in the new era, and for Vietnam-Austria cooperation to continue thriving, looking forward to the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In a cozy family atmosphere, delegates and community members raised their glasses to celebrate the New Year of the Horse, enjoying traditional Tet dishes and cultural performances by artists and community members.

Songs celebrating Spring and praising the homeland and country, performed by young people born and raised in Austria, created a vibrant picture of the continuous flow of Vietnamese culture despite being far from the homeland. The program concluded with a lucky draw to support the Vietnamese language class of the Women's Association, bringing joy and good wishes for the New Year of the Horse.

The community Tet program celebrating the New Year of the Horse 2026 not only allowed Vietnamese people in Austria to celebrate the traditional Tet in a warm, meaningful atmosphere but also contributed to strengthening community bonds, spreading the image of a peaceful, culturally rich, and deeply integrated Vietnam to international friends.
