During the meeting, Foreign Minister Trung appreciated that Chairman Wei Tao and many Guangxi leaders chose Vietnam as their first destination after assuming their new roles, demonstrating Guangxi's consistent emphasis on relations with Vietnam.
Foreign Minister Trung affirmed that within the overall relations between the two Parties and countries, Vietnam always supports and facilitates conditions for ministries, sectors, and localities to further enhance cooperative exchanges with Chinese localities, especially those with traditional and close ties to Vietnam like Guangxi.
Chairman of Guangxi Wei Tao expressed gratitude for the reception by Foreign Minister Trung and Vietnamese leaders from various ministries, sectors, and localities; and extended regards to the Vietnamese people affected by typhoons and floods.
Foreign Minister Trung also expressed gratitude for Wei Tao's support, noting that the Chinese Government recently announced a $500,000 aid to help Vietnam recover from storm and flood damages.

In a friendly, sincere, and open atmosphere, both sides agreed that alongside the strong and positive development of relations between the two Parties and countries, exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and Guangxi have achieved many positive results in recent times.
Notably, regular delegation exchanges have been maintained, and economic-trade cooperation stands out with trade turnover reaching approximately $42 billion in 2024, a 16.4% increase. Vietnam has been Guangxi's largest trading partner for 26 consecutive years; both sides maintain close coordination in land border management; and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in culture, education, and tourism have yielded significant results...
To further enhance cooperative exchanges between the two sides in the future, Foreign Minister Trung suggested that both sides continue to effectively implement exchange and cooperation mechanisms; strengthen cooperation in various fields, especially accelerating infrastructure connectivity, expanding imports of goods, particularly Vietnamese agricultural products; and closely coordinate in building a pilot model of smart border gates.
The Foreign Minister hopes both sides will make breakthroughs in scientific and technological cooperation, especially in artificial intelligence; expand scholarships and create opportunities for Vietnamese students to study and research in Guangxi; facilitate the living conditions of Vietnamese citizens in Guangxi; and encourage capable Guangxi enterprises to invest in large, iconic projects in Vietnam, particularly in green agriculture, clean energy, and sustainable development...

Foreign Minister Trung also suggested that both sides continue to maintain close coordination in land border management, effectively implement three legal documents on land borders and related agreements; actively exchange and amicably resolve arising issues on the border; and coordinate in the safe and effective operation of the Ban Gioc - Detian Waterfall Scenic Area, attracting more tourists to this beautiful site.
Agreeing with Foreign Minister Trung's cooperation proposals, the Chairman of Guangxi affirmed that Guangxi places special importance on cooperative exchanges with Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities, and is ready to effectively implement the common understanding of the high-level leaders of the two Parties and countries, contributing practically to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and promoting the building of a Vietnam-China Community with a shared future of strategic significance.
Chairman Wei Tao also emphasized several specific proposals to enhance cooperation in various fields between Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and localities and Guangxi, such as hoping that in 2026, Vietnamese Party and State leaders will visit Guangxi as part of visits to China; organizing a successful Spring Meeting 2026 between Guangxi's Secretary and the Secretaries of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, and Hai Phong in Guangxi; promoting cooperation in artificial intelligence, building smart border gates, and infrastructure connectivity; enhancing cooperation in emergency rescue and relief in the border areas of the two countries; and continuing to promote cultural tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
