National Assembly Chairman Man warmly welcomed Senate President Milos Vystrcil on his official visit to Vietnam, noting the visit's significance as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1950-2025) and the first year of implementing the Vietnam-Czech Strategic Partnership framework. The visit also takes place as Vietnam conducts the 10th session, the final session of the 15th National Assembly term. The visit contributes to further strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries and enhancing cooperation through parliamentary channels.

National Assembly Chairman Man expressed his gratitude to Senate President Milos Vystrcil for representing the Czech Government in donating an amount equivalent to 3.5 billion VND to support the Vietnamese people in overcoming the recent storm and flood aftermath.

NA Chairman Man affirmed that despite profound global changes, the Vietnam-Czech relationship has always been nurtured and positively developed by generations of leaders and citizens of both countries. He emphasized that Vietnam always remembers and appreciates the valuable support that the Czech Republic has provided to Vietnam in its struggle for independence and national unification in the past, as well as in its current construction and development efforts.

The NA Chairman stated that Vietnam always values promoting the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with the Czech Republic, Vietnam's first strategic partner in Central and Eastern Europe. He highlighted that in recent times, both sides have exchanged many high-level delegations, notably the official visit to the Czech Republic by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (January 2025) and the visit to Vietnam by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala (April 2023).

Senate President Milos Vystrcil expressed his pleasure in visiting Vietnam and was impressed by the significant achievements Vietnam has made in socio-economic development and international integration, as well as its culture and cuisine.

Thanking Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the leaders, and the people of Vietnam for their warm, friendly, and thoughtful reception, Senate President Milos Vystrcil congratulated Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 and the 50th anniversary of national reunification. He also thanked the Vietnamese Government for unilaterally exempting visas for Czech citizens.

The Czech Senate President also expressed satisfaction with the successful business connections between the Czech business delegation and Vietnamese enterprises during the visit. He affirmed that the Czech Republic always seeks to deepen cooperation with Vietnam across all fields.

Recognizing the proposals of Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Senate President Milos Vystrcil affirmed that the Czech Parliament supports and will continue to urge the remaining EU member states to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

In a friendly, sincere, and open atmosphere, the two leaders informed each other about the situation in their respective countries and highly appreciated the positive developments in bilateral relations, reflected through visits and interactions between leaders of both sides, as well as effective cooperation between the two parliaments.

The two leaders agreed to continue enhancing exchanges and delegation visits at all levels, especially high-level ones, across all Party, State, Government, National Assembly, and people-to-people channels to further strengthen political trust and mutual understanding, laying the foundation for promoting and expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Emphasizing the importance of parliamentary cooperation in the overall bilateral relationship, both sides agreed to enhance exchanges of high-level National Assembly leaders, specialized committees, friendship parliamentary groups, women's parliamentary groups, and young parliamentarians to exchange information and experiences in parliamentary activities. They also agreed to cooperate in supervising, urging, and supporting the two governments in effectively implementing bilateral cooperation agreements.

Both sides assessed that trade and investment cooperation is one of the important pillars in bilateral relations. They welcomed cooperation projects between the two countries in Vietnam, such as the Skoda automobile manufacturing plant and the Mong Duong 2 thermal power plant in Quang Ninh province.

Both sides agreed to soon develop an Action Plan to implement the Vietnam-Czech Strategic Partnership framework for the 2025-2026 period. They aim to deepen bilateral cooperation in trade-investment, science-technology, education-training, healthcare, culture, labor, tourism, renewable energy, nuclear energy, defense-security, digital transformation, environmental protection, and local cooperation. They also encouraged airlines from both sides to explore the possibility of opening direct flights between the two countries to promote tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and bilateral economic cooperation.

Discussing regional and international issues of mutual concern, both sides agreed to continue close coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums, especially regional and international inter-parliamentary forums, to contribute to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man thanked and requested the Czech authorities at all levels to continue facilitating the integration and stable life of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. He affirmed that the community is a vibrant bridge of friendship between the two nations, making positive contributions to Vietnam-Czech relations in particular and Vietnam-EU relations in general. The Czech Senate President affirmed that the Czech government and people always support and hold special affection for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.

On this occasion, the Czech Senate President extended a cordial invitation to Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn to pay an official visit to the Czech Republic at a convenient time. Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn thanked and gladly accepted the invitation.

Earlier, the Czech Senate President laid a wreath at the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs and visited the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh.
