| Teachers, parents, and volunteer lecturers from various countries participate in an online training session on Vietnamese teaching methods organized by the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese and Vietnamese Culture. |
In response to the Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the overseas Vietnamese community and to promote the preservation of national cultural identity, the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese and Vietnamese Culture, in collaboration with local partners, plans to organize a series of Vietnamese language discussions in Taiwan (China) and the Republic of Korea in April 2026.
This series of activities holds practical significance, not only aiming to review the current state of teaching and learning Vietnamese within the Vietnamese community in each location but also creating a forum for agencies, associations, teachers, parents, and the community to share experiences, discuss challenges, propose solutions, and thereby promote more systematic, sustainable, and youth-appropriate Vietnamese language classes.
According to the plan, the first program will take place on April 11 in Taiwan (China), focusing on discussions about the current state and development directions of Vietnamese language teaching linked with preserving Vietnamese culture within the community.
Here, delegates will exchange experiences in organizing classes, share teaching methods, and attend the launch of the book Vui hoc tieng Viet – Volume 2, a teaching and learning resource for the community.
Subsequently, on April 12 in Gwangju (Republic of Korea), the program will combine the opening of the association's Vietnamese language class with a thematic discussion.
The content will focus on the current state of teaching and learning Vietnamese within the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea, along with discussions on teaching methods, building effective classes, and connecting participating forces.
On April 14, the discussion will continue in Busan, emphasizing the importance of preserving the Vietnamese language and culture within the Vietnamese community in Southeast Republic of Korea.
The program is expected to listen to opinions from the community, teachers, and parents, while sharing experiences from models in Japan and Malaysia, thereby proposing solutions to open and maintain Vietnamese language classes locally.
Not only limited to exchange activities, the series of discussions also aims for a long-term goal of building a network linking different locations, forming an ecosystem for teaching Vietnamese in the overseas Vietnamese community.
The introduction and presentation of new learning materials also contribute to standardizing teaching content, providing teachers and parents with tools suitable for practical conditions.
Through activities in Taiwan (China) and the Republic of Korea, the organizers hope to raise awareness about the role of the Vietnamese language, spread effective models, and promote the formation and development of Vietnamese language classes within the community.
The series of events is expected to help strengthen the "language bridge" between generations of overseas Vietnamese and their homeland, thereby preserving national cultural identity in the context of increasingly deep integration.
