Inauguration of Hoa Nghiem Pagoda in Northeast Thailand
WVR - On July 19, the inauguration ceremony of Hoa Nghiem Pagoda took place in Phu Luang District, Loei Province, Northeast Thailand. The ceremony followed the An Nam sect – Vietnamese Mahayana Buddhism rituals, established by Vietnamese people in Thailand since the late 18th century.

Phu Luang District holds significant historical importance, located on the route that President Ho Chi Minh traveled from Phichit to Udon Thani in 1928 during his revolutionary activities in Thailand.
In his congratulatory speech, Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that this cultural project symbolizes the unity and cooperation of the Vietnamese community and Thai people, with the support of local authorities.

The inauguration of Hoa Nghiem Pagoda on the route once traveled by Ho Chi Minh, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations, holds profound significance for the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh believes that the pagoda will serve as a connection between historical and cultural values and the present, preserving the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh's journey. It will cater to the spiritual and cultural needs of the Vietnamese community and Thai people, marking a meaningful bond between the peoples of Vietnam and Thailand.
The ceremony featured many solemn rituals such as the mountain-opening inauguration, merit-offering ceremony, and tree planting to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations.
A large number of monks from Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism, along with hundreds of Thai Buddhists and Vietnamese expatriates, participated, creating an atmosphere of unity and community bonding.

Hoa Nghiem Pagoda (Anamngamsrisukhumaphat) was built on land donated by Ngamsri Sukhumphan, a Thai of Vietnamese descent, along with an initial fund of 800,000 baht.
During its construction, the pagoda continued to receive contributions from numerous associations and Vietnamese individuals in Thailand, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and the preservation of cultural and religious values of the overseas Vietnamese community.
