Moscow enhances efforts to attract Vietnamese tourists

WVR - Amidst the increasing number of tourists from Vietnam visiting Moscow, the capital of Russia has officially launched the Vietnamese version of "Discover Moscow" – the city's official tourism information ecosystem.

According to the Moscow City Tourism Committee, the number of tourists from Vietnam in the entire year of 2025 was 42,000, and in the first quarter of 2026, the city welcomed 9,100 tourists from Vietnam. This reflects a steady growth in tourism demand from Vietnam, and the launch of the new platform will assist Vietnamese tourists in planning their trips more conveniently and easily.

Helping Vietnamese tourists plan their Moscow exploration

The Vietnamese version of "Discover Moscow" (https://discover.moscow/vi) is a repository of practical travel information, seasonal itinerary suggestions, and useful tips for those planning to visit Moscow.

The platform aids tourists in exploring key attractions, cultural routes, park systems, events, restaurants, shopping areas, and family-friendly experiences, making trip organization easier even before setting foot in the city.

Vietnamese-speaking tourists can now explore Moscow through a specialized platform that gathers reliable information, travel inspiration, and practical planning tools in one destination.

This initiative reflects Moscow's continuous focus on creating comfortable, accessible, and personalized travel experiences for visitors from Vietnam.

The city combines cultural heritage, modern urban infrastructure, premium hospitality services, green public spaces, exquisite cuisine including authentic Vietnamese dishes, and cooler summer climates – all factors particularly appealing to tourists from Vietnam.

Another factor maintaining interest in visiting the Russian capital is the convenient visa process. Vietnamese citizens can apply for an electronic visa to Russia and receive it within just four days. Travel to Moscow is also becoming more convenient thanks to the developed air network between Moscow and Vietnamese cities: approximately 32 direct flights per week connect Moscow with cities in Vietnam.

For many tourists from Vietnam, Moscow is particularly attractive due to its Soviet heritage and long-standing historical ties with Vietnam. Visitors can experience iconic Soviet-era architecture combined with medieval monasteries, churches, Romanov-era mansions, and contemporary creative complexes.

The city's historical layers are vividly expressed through its architecture, museums, public spaces, and transportation system, including the world-famous Moscow Metro.

Classic Moscow tours include the Kremlin, Red Square, Alexander Garden, and the historic center. Art lovers can visit the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and the Tretyakov Gallery, while families can explore the VDNKh Exhibition Complex, the Museum of Cosmonautics, Moskino Film Park, Dream Island amusement park, water parks, and science centers.

As visitors from a tropical climate, Vietnamese tourists will greatly appreciate Moscow's cool weather. The Russian capital offers fresh air, tree-lined boulevards, river embankments, and extended evening hours outdoors. With over 140 parks and natural gardens, Moscow is considered one of the world's greenest megacities.

Parks like Gorky, Zaryadye, Kolomenskoye, and Tsaritsyno each offer a unique perspective of the city, from meticulously maintained gardens and river views to historical architecture and tranquil green spaces.

Summer also transforms Moscow into an outdoor cultural stage. The "Summer in Moscow" project brings concerts, performances, workshops, food markets, floral installations, and family activities to streets, parks, and public spaces across the capital.

Featuring over 500 locations citywide, the project introduces cultural, educational, sports, and lifestyle events throughout the summer, allowing visitors to experience a Moscow that extends beyond traditional tourist routes. A hallmark of Summer in Moscow is that cultural life becomes part of the city's daily rhythm.

Connecting tourism and cultural exchange with Vietnam

The Vietnamese version of "Discover Moscow" makes it easier for tourists to access this rich array of seasonal experiences, providing carefully curated suggestions, practical information, and inspiration tailored to Vietnamese travelers' preferences.

Cultural exchanges between Moscow and Vietnam are also becoming more vibrant. In recent years, Moscow has organized tourism promotion events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together tourism representatives from both countries.

In May 2025, Vietnamese travel companies participated in a survey trip to Moscow, where they explored new attractions and met with over 40 representatives from the city's tourism industry.

Cultural exchanges between the two countries reached a significant milestone in the summer of 2025, when the Vietnam Cultural Festival was held right at Manezhnaya Square, the heart of Moscow, as part of the "Summer in Moscow" project.

Organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Vietnam, the festival offered Moscow residents and visitors the opportunity to explore the unique aspects of Vietnamese culture.

Visitors enjoyed the enchanting art of water puppetry, captivating ethnic melodies, distinctive traditional dances, participated in hands-on craft activities, and savored the rich flavors of authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
