This event is significant in enhancing friendship, cohesion, and cordial relations among diplomatic missions and the ASEAN community.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Consul General in Chongqing Bui Nguyen Long emphasized: “ASEAN Family Day is an occasion for us to recall and strengthen solidarity and friendship. Sports and cuisine, though simple, help us come closer and understand each other's cultures better.”

Meanwhile, the ASEAN Consuls General in Chongqing also expressed joy and affirmed their commitment to continue maintaining and expanding community exchange activities in the future.

The program kicked off with a pickleball sports exchange. Amateur athletes from six countries competed in three categories: men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. The atmosphere was incredibly lively, with exciting plays receiving enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Even though it was a friendly exchange, the pairs exhibited a high spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. Laughter and applause erased distances, leaving warm, friendly moments among ASEAN expatriates.

The culinary showcase was an unmissable highlight. Each country brought its signature dishes, creating a colorful feast of Southeast Asian cuisine.

Notably, Vietnam chose two iconic dishes: banh mi and nem. The Vietnamese banh mi, with its crispy crust and diverse fillings of meat, pate, herbs, and pickles, captivated international guests.

The golden, fragrant nem, filled with meat, shrimp, vermicelli, and carrots, not only delighted the taste buds but also showcased the sophistication of Vietnamese cuisine. Both dishes were meticulously prepared, attracting attention and praise from other countries.

The program concluded with warm commemorative photos. "ASEAN Family Day 2026" left a positive impression, spreading the spirit and identity of "One ASEAN" in the southwestern region of China.
