ASEAN countries and China highly value the milestone of the 5th anniversary of establishing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and the 35th anniversary of the ASEAN-China Dialogue Partnership, affirming that the positive development of ASEAN-China relations has been significantly contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.

Both sides welcomed the practical, comprehensive, and effective cooperation results between ASEAN and China, spanning multiple fields, actively supporting the ASEAN Community building process. The implementation rate of the ASEAN-China Action Plan for 2021-2025 reached 97%, and in the first three months of the new Action Plan for 2026-2030, the implementation rate exceeded 23%.

China has long been ASEAN's leading trade partner, taking the lead in providing development cooperation funds to ASEAN, maintaining the most cooperation mechanisms with ASEAN, and being ASEAN's largest source of tourists.

Amidst the complex and unpredictable global and regional situation, both sides agreed to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership based on mutual understanding, respect, and beneficial cooperation, adhering to international law, supporting multilateralism, and an international system based on international law, with the United Nations playing a central role.

Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Wang Jing emphasized that China values ASEAN, steadfastly supports ASEAN's central role, and supports ASEAN in implementing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, aligning with China's new five-year development strategy; actively contributing to peace, security, stability, and cooperation in the region and the world. China affirmed its role as a stabilizing factor in the region and the world, always acting predictably.

ASEAN countries and China reiterated their commitment to strictly adhere to and implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), striving to soon complete an effective and efficient Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) in accordance with international law and UNCLOS 1982.

Several specific cooperation areas, aligned with the interests and concerns of both sides, were discussed and agreed upon, such as defense and security cooperation; maritime cooperation; combating transnational crime; disaster response; green transition; digital economy development; expanding trade and investment, effectively utilizing the newly upgraded ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement 3.0 and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP); connectivity cooperation, including infrastructure connectivity, digital connectivity, people-to-people connectivity; cooperation in ensuring energy security and maintaining stable supply chains...

Ambassador Wang Jing emphasized the opportunity for connectivity cooperation in logistics infrastructure between the Greater Bay Area, Hainan Free Trade Port, and ASEAN countries, and informed about efforts to further open the market, especially services, for foreign businesses and investors, including ASEAN. China also shared plans to organize meaningful activities to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2026.

Sharing the significance and importance of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong highlighted the role and responsible contributions of countries, especially major countries like China, in maintaining a peaceful, stable, and conducive environment for cooperation and development in the region.

The Ambassador made several specific proposals to promote ASEAN-China cooperation in areas such as maritime cooperation in line with the DOC spirit; combating high-tech crime; supporting businesses to enhance the effective exploitation of ACFTA 3.0 and RCEP; science-technology-innovation, including emerging technologies like AI, quantum, battery technology; road and rail infrastructure connectivity; renewable energy development, including sustainable energy infrastructure in the region; and suggested that China continue to actively participate and contribute to the ASEAN Future Forum 2026.
