WVR - On the afternoon of April 20, in Hanoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu received Xu Zhongjian, Secretary-General of the ASEAN – China Center (ACC), leading a delegation of about 30 Chinese enterprises visiting, working, and surveying the investment environment in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu welcomed the delegation from the ASEAN – China Centre and Chinese enterprises visiting, working, and surveying the investment environment in Vietnam; he highly appreciated the Center's role in promoting comprehensive ASEAN – China cooperation.

He praised the results of the recent state visit by General Secretary To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation to China, noting that the visit achieved significant common understandings and strategic orientations for the relations between the two Parties and countries in the new phase.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that, based on these high-level common understandings and complementary advantages, Vietnam – China relations will continue to be strengthened and elevated to new heights, aiming to build a Vietnam – China Community with a shared future that carries strategic significance at a higher level in the new era.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that Vietnam values the development of relations with China and ASEAN – China cooperation; he considers this one of the dynamic, effective relationships with significant importance for peace, stability, and development in the region.

Highlighting the vast cooperation potential, the Deputy Minister suggested that the Centre continue to play its bridging role, promote trade balance, increase imports of goods, especially agricultural products from ASEAN and Vietnam; enhance local connectivity, boost people-to-people exchanges, tourism cooperation, and further facilitate travel and visas for citizens of both sides.

Secretary-General Xu Zhongjian expressed his pleasure in visiting and working in Vietnam; he highly appreciated Vietnam's dynamic development and its increasingly important role in ASEAN. The Secretary-General emphasized that the recent state visit by General Secretary To Lam to China achieved many important results, contributing to guiding cooperation between the two countries in the new phase.

The Secretary-General affirmed that the Center will continue to promote ASEAN – China cooperation in key areas, especially in economy, trade, and investment, contributing to deepening the ASEAN – China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; advancing the implementation of the upgraded ASEAN – China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA 3.0), enhancing investment promotion activities, business connectivity, and promoting the business environment of ASEAN countries in China. Additionally, the ACC will boost tourism cooperation during 2026–2027, fostering people-to-people exchanges between the two sides.

The Secretary-General also mentioned that the Centre plans to implement several cooperation initiatives with Chinese localities, including high-tech agricultural cooperation with Henan Province (with the ASEAN – China Agricultural Cooperation Conference expected to be held in October 2026), as well as promoting high-tech and artificial intelligence cooperation with Anhui Province and the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong - Hong Kong – Macau.

Both sides agreed to continue close coordination, effectively implementing the agreed cooperation contents, contributing to deepening ASEAN – China and Vietnam – China relations, for peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and the world.
