Transforming history into a lively Experience
Patriotism is not just found in history lessons but is vividly continued and expressed through each generation. While previous generations demonstrated their patriotism through sacrifice and resilience, the 4.0 generation affirms this sentiment with intelligence, creativity, and the power of technology. In other words, young people's patriotism is clearly manifested, extending beyond traditional ceremonies to spread vigorously across the digital space and in real life.
Instead of merely absorbing history from books, the younger generation actively explores and creatively disseminates historical values. Reflecting on the recent 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), images of young people lining up in front of the Vietnam Military History Museum and visiting the Independence Palace moved many.
In recent days, amidst the jubilant celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, many citizens have donned traditional attire with ao dai or red and yellow star shirts to "check-in" at Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters. These historical sites not only preserve the nation's memories but also serve as places for the younger generation to connect with the past and honor the values left by their ancestors. They come not just to take photos but to learn, reflect, and share historical stories with the community.
Notably, during the grand celebration of September 2, it has become a popular trend among young people to "check-in" with the national flag at every location to express their patriotism. Streets and alleys adorned with red and yellow flags are widely shared on social media.

Spreading Vietnamese values in the digital space
Patriotism, especially that of young people in the 4.0 generation, has been vividly expressed on digital platforms through positive trends. "Transformation" videos with traditional attire, images of parades, and military displays have spread widely, creating a vibrant atmosphere of national pride.
In today's digital age, patriotism is not only shown through brave actions or strong voices but also through practical and relatable creativity. From protecting national sovereignty to bringing history to life in modern living, the younger generation plays a crucial role in preserving the past and building the future.
Many young people have become "digital cultural ambassadors" by producing videos about Vietnamese cuisine, landscapes, and people, or short documentaries on TikTok and YouTube. They not only spread the beauty of the country but also contribute to countering misinformation about history.
It can be said that the 4.0 era offers many opportunities for young people to express patriotism by leveraging the power of technology. Under the influence of media and social networks, the nation's good traditional values and patriotic actions, along with meaningful videos, are being spread more vigorously.

Patriotism is not just about pride - it is transformed into concrete and practical actions to build the nation. Many young people's startups focus on solving social issues, developing smart tourism, or promoting Vietnamese agricultural products globally. They express their patriotism by contributing to economic development and enhancing the country's international standing.
Volunteer and charity campaigns are also organized on social media platforms. Young people use technology to call for donations, connecting those in need with philanthropists, embodying the nation's spirit of "mutual support".
From commemorating significant national holidays, the expression of patriotism among Vietnamese, especially the youth, has seen a marked change. Through creativity and connectivity, the younger generation has proven that they not only continue but also enrich the nation's patriotic spirit. Their love for the country is a powerful flow, expressed in diverse ways.
The young generation of Vietnam is asserting their role as passionate cultural creators, breathing new life into traditional values. While the digital space is where they express appreciation through "likes" and shares, real life is where they showcase creativity through concrete actions.
In the digital era, young people have integrated national spirit into modern media products, creating creative works that bear personal imprints while honoring traditional values. Alongside "check-in" photos with the national flag, trends like "The Flag in the Eyes - Homeland in the Heart" once went viral, as did heartfelt paintings on rooftops, or artistic transformation videos set to the music of "Continuing the Story of Peace" have become creative expressions of love for the homeland.
Such contents not only attract millions of interactions on social media platforms but also create a unique cultural phenomenon where the younger generation expresses national pride in fresh, distinct, innovative ways.
These days in Hanoi, the heroic atmosphere of the September 2 celebration spreads throughout the streets. Ten of thousands of people wait for hours to witness the first comprehensive parade rehearsal at Ba Dinh Square, with brilliant red and yellow flags flying. Everyone seems to feel proud wearing the sacred red, blending into the crowd, sharing the spirit of patriotism.

Patriotism from small deeds
People often think of patriotism as something grand and monumental as taking up arms in battle, dedicating a lifetime to the nation, or achieving resounding victories. However, in today's simple life, patriotism is expressed in the most straightforward and sincere ways, starting from the small, everyday actions of each of us.
Patriotism can sometimes be as simple as picking up a piece of litter on the street or cleaning up around where you sit. Whether at home or in a foreign land, such actions reflect pride and love for the homeland, leaving a beautiful mark of Vietnamese people wherever we go.
Patriotism is also about living kindly and becoming better every day. Kindness does not something grand but is shown through civilized and polite gestures in daily life. It's when you don't run a red light, don't push in line, and say "thank you" to a vendor or a driver. It's when you help and share difficulties with those around you. A kind Vietnam starts with young people living with honesty, integrity and responsibility. Each small act spreads positive energy.
Patriotism is also about sharing and caring. This sentiment is shown through our collective efforts to support flood victims or aid Cubans in need. It doesn't have to be a large sum of money, just something from the heart and empathy. It shows that, regardless of circumstances, the Vietnamese spirit of "mutual support" always exists and endures.
Moreover, patriotism is not just words but concrete actions. It is not only about historic victories but also about individual efforts to make the country better every day. From the smallest, simplest things, we are building a civilized and proud Vietnam.
