Addressing Vietnam-Russia relations, the Consul General affirmed that Russia has always been a traditional friend, a reliable and particularly important partner for Vietnam.

The comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia continues to be maintained and positively developed across various fields. The two countries have ample room for cooperation in economic-trade, transport-logistics, energy, science-technology, education, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

According to the Consul General, in 2025, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Russia increased by approximately 6%. In the education sector, about 3,000 Vietnamese students applied for 1,000 university scholarships offered by the Russian Federation Government, indicating the appeal of educational cooperation and the demand for exchanges among the younger generations of the two countries.

Within the overall Vietnam-Russia relationship, the Far East region, particularly Primorye Province and Vladivostok City, is considered an area with significant cooperation potential.

In 2025, trade turnover between Vietnam and Primorye increased by about 46% and continued to maintain positive growth in the early months of 2026. Vietnam wishes to work with Primorye to more effectively exploit the potential in trade, investment, and business, especially in the fields that the province is prioritizing for development.

Consul General Nguyen Viet Kien highly appreciated the attention and support of the leadership of Primorye Province, Vladivostok City, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, educational institutions, research institutes, businesses, the Friendship Association with Vietnam, and social organizations in promoting cooperation between the two sides.

By living, studying, working, and actively participating in community activities, the Vietnamese in the region contribute to promoting people-to-people exchanges and fostering friendship between the two countries.

In a solemn and friendly atmosphere, the Consul General expressed confidence that the solid political relationship foundation, trust built over generations, and increasing cooperation potential will continue to drive the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia to develop more deeply. Additionally, cooperation between Vietnam and Primorye Province and Vladivostok City is expected to become increasingly substantive, effective, and beneficial for the people of both sides.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Governor Stetsko and other Russian representatives affirmed the importance of traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, while expressing positive sentiments towards the country and people of Vietnam.

The Russian side emphasised the potential to boost trade, investment, business connections, and cooperation in culture and education with Vietnam, thereby contributing to the development of Primorye and the entire Far East region.

Thus, the event continues to strengthen the foundation of friendship, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and expand the space for cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
