The initiative aims to raise the profile of Vietnamese coffee and expand opportunities for trade cooperation between Vietnam, Mozambique and countries across Southern Africa.

Accordingly, the pavilion showcased the diversity and quality of Vietnamese coffee, featuring products from major growing regions such as Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai and Son La. The range on display included Robusta, Arabica, roasted and ground coffee, speciality coffee, Halal-certified coffee, as well as processed products such as instant coffee and coffee capsules.

Alongside the product displays, the Embassy introduced the development of Vietnam’s coffee industry, key growing regions and the sector’s strengths in production, processing and exports. Vietnamese coffee culture was also presented through the traditional phin filter and distinctive ways of enjoying coffee, including iced milk coffee and coconut coffee.

Visitors had the opportunity to sample freshly brewed Vietnamese coffee at the pavilion, attracting considerable interest from Mozambican visitors and international guests.

On the opening day, the Embassy’s dedicated Vietnamese coffee pavilion had the honour of welcoming Mozambican President Daniel Chapo.

Introducing the pavilion to the President, Ambassador of Vietnam to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin said that this year the Embassy had chosen coffee, one of Vietnam’s renowned agricultural products and key export commodities, as the theme of its presentation at FACIM. The initiative seeks to showcase the diversity and quality of Vietnamese coffee to Mozambican friends while introducing distinctive elements of Vietnam’s coffee culture.

The Ambassador stressed that coffee is not merely an agricultural product, but also an integral part of Vietnamese life and culture. Vietnam’s participation in FACIM with a dedicated coffee pavilion provides an opportunity for the Embassy to promote the country’s image, products and culture, while strengthening business connections and exploring trade cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

Vietnam is currently the world’s largest producer and exporter of Robusta coffee. In 2025, coffee exports reached nearly US$9 billion, the highest level on record, with output of approximately 1.58-1.6 million tonnes. Vietnamese coffee is now available in more than 80 countries and territories.

The presentation of speciality, processed and Halal coffee products at FACIM 2026 is expected to expand opportunities to reach importers, distributors and potential partners in Mozambique and across the region.

FACIM 2026, themed “Digital Transformation and Energy towards a Sustainable Economy”, brought together 3,150 exhibitors from 29 countries, including 650 foreign companies and 2,500 domestic enterprises, and is expected to attract around 55,000 visitors.

It is Mozambique’s largest annual trade fair and one of the key trade promotion events in Southern Africa.

Through its participation in FACIM 2026, the Embassy of Vietnam is contributing to the promotion of Vietnam’s image, culture and coffee sector strengths, while fostering economic and trade links between Vietnam and Mozambique.
