Routes World: Expanding direct dialogue with global airlines
Within the framework of Routes World 2026, Gia Binh Airport plans to conduct over 30 meetings with airlines from Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Additionally, it will promote exchanges with airports and tourism development partners. The meetings will focus on introducing project development directions, understanding the priorities of different airline groups, and identifying opportunities for cooperation in route networks, passenger connectivity, and cargo transport.
Participating in specialized dialogues at Routes World is a step for Gia Binh Airport to access the international aviation market from the development phase, gradually building relationships with airlines and strategic partners, and seeking opportunities to help shape future aviation connectivity networks. Representatives from Gia Binh Airport also plan to attend the discussion session “Securing Routes: How to Build Strong Partnerships Between Airlines, Airports, and Destinations”, which focuses on building effective partnerships among airlines, airports, and destinations.
Gia Binh Airport aims to work with airlines early on by exchanging market data and planning route networks and operational plans. For long-haul operators and full-service airlines, the project is researching cooperation programs for pioneering airlines, including superior support mechanisms. For low-cost airlines, the focus is on efficient aircraft turnaround and competitive operating costs; for cargo and logistics operators, the advantage lies in specialized cargo infrastructure and connectivity with high-tech production and export clusters in the North.

Market potential, strategic location, and operational efficiency
The opportunities for Gia Binh International Airport lie not only in infrastructure expansion but also in the potential to open new international routes and transit connections. According to the project analysis, over 30% of the potential international demand in the North - about 4-5 million passengers annually - is currently unmet by direct flights. The airport is located at the center of the Hanoi - Bac Ninh - Hai Phong growth triangle, linked to high-tech production clusters and international investment flows. Meanwhile, passenger volume in Hanoi is projected to increase from 47 million to 60 million by 2030, including 35 million domestic and 25 million international passengers. In 2025 alone, approximately 892,000 passengers from Hanoi will need to transit through aviation hubs such as Doha, Istanbul, Guangzhou, and Dubai, indicating significant potential to develop more direct routes. Within a 3-hour flight radius, Gia Binh Airport can access 297 airports, with a market of approximately 1.3 billion people.
Regarding the flight network, Gia Binh International Airport aims for a model in which domestic routes provide inbound passenger traffic, regional networks support connecting passenger flows, and long-haul routes gradually establish international transit capabilities. The airport targets a minimum connection time of 60 minutes, compared to about 90 minutes at Noi Bai, with door-to-aircraft time under 15 minutes and no queuing. These are the goals in the proposed operational model, with data and technology foundations considered from the development phase.
Gia Binh International Airport: Vietnam's new aviation gateway
Gia Binh International Airport possesses market advantages from three complementary demand sources, underpinned by high economic growth.
Firstly, macroeconomic conditions and government orientation help create diverse demand for travel and trade. In 2025, Vietnam recorded a GDP growth rate of 8.02% and a CPI increase of 3.31%, while the GDP growth target for 2026 is set at 10% or higher, with macroeconomic stability prioritized, along with strategic infrastructure development, science and technology, and high-value industries.
Secondly, industry and FDI provide a foundation for business, expertise, and high-value goods. Bac Ninh alone attracted approximately USD 5.73 billion in FDI in 2025, contributing to the formation of a customer base and demand for high-value goods transportation from production clusters in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, and Hai Phong.
Additionally, the Hanoi - Ha Long - Ninh Binh destination chain is oriented toward developing diverse experiences, from cuisine and shopping to culture, encouraging international tourists to stay longer.
Gia Binh International Airport is oriented toward becoming the international aviation gateway of Northern Vietnam, playing a role in passenger and cargo transit and in developing aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the Asia-Pacific region. With this orientation, Gia Binh Airport aims to expand international aviation connectivity, creating more opportunities for cooperation among airlines, logistics enterprises, and trade partners, thereby contributing to regional trade and economic growth.

Destination economic ecosystem with three main drivers
From the momentum of special economic zones and free trade zones (FTZs) to high-quality jobs, expertise, tourism, and experiences for tourists, Gia Binh Airport is expected to drive an economic boost for Vietnam in the future.
“Elevating every journey” will not only be a commitment to the passenger experience but also to how Gia Binh Airport values each connection: expanding opportunities for passengers, businesses, logistics, and trade, while contributing to national growth momentum and elevating Vietnam's position on the global aviation map.
Gia Binh International Airport is developed by Masterise Aviation Infrastructure (MAI), a member of Masterise Group. With a focus on integrating aviation infrastructure development capabilities, technology, and service ecosystems, MAI and its partners aim to develop Gia Binh Airport to international standards while contributing to the formation of new growth momentum for Northern Vietnam.
