Quang Ninh: '90 days and nights of sprint' and the launchpad for new development space
With its GRDP continuing to maintain a double-digit growth target, a total investment capital of nearly 100 trillion VND, and tourism revenue exceeding 56.4 trillion VND after nine months, Quang Ninh is accelerating in various economic sectors.

At a recent regular September meeting, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh City reported that over the past nine months, Quang Ninh has focused on synchronously implementing socio-economic development tasks, prioritizing areas with growth-driving potential.
Ensuring double-digit growth target
Estimated figures indicate that the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) for the third quarter of 2026 and the cumulative nine months continue to ensure a double-digit growth target. Industry, construction, and services continue to play a crucial role in overall growth. Specifically, the processing and manufacturing industry recorded all 12 projects entering production and business as planned.
The total investment capital for the entire city in nine months reached nearly 100 trillion VND, up 17.4% compared to the same period in 2025.
The disbursement progress of public investment capital also showed improvement. By the end of the third quarter of 2026, the city is expected to disburse 16.342 trillion VND, reaching 102% of the third-quarter target and 84% of the annual plan.
Along with accelerating disbursement, efforts to clear land and address delayed projects have been focused on. To date, 151 out of 198 delayed projects have been resolved, with no remaining obstacles.
Tourism activities continue to record significant increases. Over nine months, the total number of visitors is estimated at 18.8 million, up 9.9% compared to the same period last year. Of these, international visitors reached approximately 4.21 million, an increase of 28%.
Tourism revenue is estimated at 56.4 trillion VND, up 27.38% compared to the same period. State budget revenue for nine months is estimated at 80.327 trillion VND, up 88.28% compared to the same period and reaching 111.91% of the nine-month revenue scenario.
In addition to economic development, tasks related to social welfare, culture, and improving people's living standards continue to be implemented. The management of planning, land, resources, environment, digital transformation; inspection, and resolution of complaints and denunciations are also being focused on.

High-intensity campaign “90 days and nights of sprint”
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee, the fourth quarter of 2026 is crucial for the ability to complete the annual targets. Therefore, agencies, units, and localities must continue to enhance responsibility, focus on removing bottlenecks, unlocking resources, and creating additional growth momentum.
In the fourth quarter of 2026, Quang Ninh will launch a high-intensity campaign “90 Days and Nights of Sprint”, focusing on accelerating the completion of tasks and targets for 2026.
One of the key goals is to complete 100% of land clearance work; simultaneously, increase support for businesses, resolve difficulties for projects, and accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital.
The city also requires the promotion of industrial production, trade, services, tourism, import-export, logistics, and sectors with high added value.
Regarding budget revenue tasks, functional sectors are required to implement comprehensive solutions to exploit revenue sources, striving to complete the annual target. The management and reasonable exploitation of land, mine waste for construction materials, and leveling are linked with increasing revenue from resource taxes and environmental protection fees.
Simultaneously, Quang Ninh will accelerate investment preparation, bring key and driving projects into commencement; promote science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, limiting the concentration of workload and capital at the end of the year.

In the service sector, the city is determined to continue boosting demand, promoting and advertising tourism; completing and introducing new products for exploitation, with a focus on the autumn-winter tourism stimulus program to achieve the tourism targets for 2026.
Another task set is the effective implementation of the Quang Ninh City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; strengthening regional linkages and reorganizing development space in line with the new administrative system. These are identified as important tasks to both complete the 2026 goals and lay the foundation for rapid and sustainable growth in the following years.
Expanding space, increasing development potential
Not only focusing on completing the 2026 goals, Quang Ninh is facing new development potential as the economic space expands, facilitating the reorganization of growth drivers towards more connected, modern, and sustainable directions.
The formation of Quang Ninh City presents both a requirement and an opportunity for the locality to better exploit its advantages in industry, seaports, logistics, trade, services, and tourism; enhancing connections between areas, thereby forming value chains with greater spillover effects.
With its strategic position, increasingly synchronized transportation infrastructure, and strengths in marine economy, industry, and tourism, Quang Ninh has many conditions to become a significant growth pole in the region.
Particularly, development potential also lies in improving the quality of service sectors, expanding logistics, promoting trade and export-import, while developing industries with high technology content and added value.

In this context, the implementation of the Quang Ninh City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, is crucial in shaping new development space.
The city aims to more effectively exploit land, infrastructure, human resources, and science and technology, while enhancing regional linkages to limit scattered development, creating additional momentum for key economic sectors.
Along with that, digital transformation, science and technology, and innovation are expected to become increasingly clear drivers in enhancing productivity and competitiveness of the economy. This is the foundation for Quang Ninh to shift from growth relying heavily on exploiting existing advantages to a growth model focusing more on quality, efficiency, and added value.
The results achieved in nine months, along with the “90 Days and Nights of Sprint” program in the fourth quarter, aim to complete the 2026 targets and set the stage for a new development cycle.
As resources are unlocked, development space is reorganized, and new growth drivers are promoted, Quang Ninh has more grounds to aim for rapid, sustainable growth and elevate the city's position in the region.
