Enhancing knowledge on territorial borders through field experience in Mong Cai, Quang Ninh
WVR - From September 25-27, a delegation of mid-level officials and those in leadership planning from various units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the field program "Enhancing Knowledge on Territorial Borders for Mid-Level Officials" in Quang Ninh City.

The program aims to equip participants with practical knowledge on border management and checkpoints, while also strengthening the connection between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and agencies, units, and officials directly involved in foreign affairs and border management at the local level.
The program was attended by Ambassador Ho Xuan Son, former Party Central Committee member and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nguyen Hoang Hai, Deputy Chairman of the National Border Committee, along with numerous participants.

In the locality, the delegation met and worked with Ho Van Vinh, City Party Committee member and Director of the Department of External Affairs of Quang Ninh City, representatives of the Border Gate Management Board, and the Border Guard forces at the Mong Cai border gate area. They discussed the topic “Protecting Sovereignty, Managing Borders, Maintaining a Peaceful and Stable Environment for Socio-Economic Development”.
Local representatives shared with the delegation about the management of border gates in the area, the advantages, difficulties, obstacles, and proposals for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the situation and management of borders and territories, including issues arising from practical grounds; the socio-economic development of the locality and the need for coordination and support from central agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Within the program's framework, the delegation also conducted field surveys at the border gate area, the Vietnam-China border markers, Bai Tuc Lam area, Mui Sa Vi – a symbolic location at the northeasternmost point of Vietnam, and the Sa Vi border communication information cluster.
The program provides an opportunity for participants to interact, exchange directly, grasp local realities and needs, contributing to strengthening the connection and coordination in implementing local foreign affairs of the Ministry.
