Promoting Vietnamese culture, cuisine, and products at the Chongqing International Spring Festival in China

WVR - On the occasion of the Lunar New Year the Horse (Binh Ngo), from February 6-8, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Chongqing, along with over 20 Consulates General from various countries in Chongqing and Chengdu, and numerous major Chinese enterprises, participated in the first International Spring Festival.

The event was organized by the Chongqing authorities in the New World Plaza, Yuzhong District, Chongqing City.

At the Festival, Vietnamese Consul General in Chongqing Bui Nguyen Long and his spouse Nguyen Thi Kim Trung directly shared and introduced international friends to Nem – the essence of Vietnamese cuisine – and many other unique consumer products from Vietnam.

Chongqing Deputy Mayor Huang Mao Quan, Director of the Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office Wang Wen, and heads of representatives from various countries highly appreciated and expressed their impression of the Vietnamese booth. They believe that Vietnamese products will help spread Vietnamese cultural values and contribute positively to strengthening long-term friendship, cooperation, and connection between the two countries.

Held over nearly three days, the Festival welcomed hundreds of guests and attracted thousands of visitors to explore and experience. The Vietnamese booth became a prominent highlight, drawing significant interest from Chinese and international friends who stopped to learn and enjoy the distinctive flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.

Through display, introduction, and exchange activities at the program, the Consulate General aims to widely spread the value of Vietnamese cuisine and agricultural products, not only as familiar delicacies but also as part of cultural identity, showcasing the sophistication in processing and the increasingly professional supply capacity of Vietnamese enterprises.

From products that have become "brands" in the hearts of tourists like traditional Nem, coffee, dried fruits, and macadamia nuts, to many strong export items like tea, pepper, cashew nuts, cinnamon, star anise, ginger, turmeric, salt… each product story received substantial interest, numerous exchanges, and potential connections.
