During the meeting, Consul General Bui Nguyen Long introduced the cooperation between Vietnam's ministries, sectors, and localities with the Chongqing and Sichuan regions in recent times. He also noted that since its official inauguration in October 2025, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing has consistently strived to promote exchanges and connections between the two sides across various fields.
The Consul General stressed that in the context of the increasingly deepening Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, enhancing legal cooperation between the two countries is of utmost importance. It not only helps strengthen and elevate bilateral political trust but also fosters healthy, stable, and robust development in economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two sides.

In this spirit, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing highly appreciates the role of Southwest University of Political Science and Law in training legal human resources. It welcomes the school's initiatives and contributions to promoting legal cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in general, and Vietnam in particular.
For his part, Vice President Wang Huaiyong highlighted the achievements of Southwest University of Political Science and Law in education, training, and research in the legal field. He noted that the school has long focused on studying the laws of the region and countries worldwide and is keen on promoting legal training cooperation between China and ASEAN.
According to SWUPL Vice President, the China-ASEAN Legal Education and Research Network, initiated by the school, has gathered resources from universities, research institutes, and law enforcement agencies in the region. It has built a comprehensive platform integrating education, scientific research, and practical application, combining legal education, academic research, and information sharing.

Based on Vice President Wang Huaiyong's proposals, Consul General Bui Nguyen Long affirmed that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing will closely coordinate with the school to inform and invite a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 8th China-ASEAN Legal Forum, scheduled to be held in Chongqing in November 2026. They will also support introducing the school's "Silk Road Outstanding Talent" Ph.D. program to Vietnam's legal training and research institutions, support and connect Southwest University of Political Science and Law in establishing cooperative relations with relevant universities and research institutes in Vietnam, and are ready to share with the school's faculty and students updates on Vietnam's institutional reform and the building of a rule-of-law state.
The meeting took place in an open and friendly atmosphere, contributing to laying the groundwork for more substantive cooperation between Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing and the Vietnamese legal community, while also breathing new life into Vietnam-China legal exchanges.
