This meaningful annual event is dedicated to the overseas Vietnamese community in East China, helping to connect expatriates with their homeland during the traditional Tet holiday.
In his New Year greeting to the community, Vietnamese Consul General in Shanghai Nguyen The Tung expressed joy over Vietnam's significant achievements in 2025. He affirmed that under the decisive and correct leadership of the Party and Government, along with the joint efforts of all levels and sectors, Vietnam has achieved important, comprehensive, and historic accomplishments. Party building and streamlining efforts have yielded key results; the economy maintained high growth, strategic breakthroughs were promoted synchronously, and national defense and security remained strong. Foreign affairs and international integration continued to be a highlight, creating a favorable environment for the country's development, and the people's living standards have steadily improved.
Consul General Nguyen The Tung emphasized that "Homeland Spring 2026" is being held in a jubilant atmosphere celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Party, a particularly important political event marking a new development phase in the country's vision and aspiration for growth. This reflects the strategic vision and high political determination of the entire Party, people, and military in leading the nation into the "Era of National Ascendancy".
Regarding Vietnam-China relations, Consul General Nguyen The Tung highlighted that in the context of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Vietnam-China relationship in 2025 continued to maintain a positive, stable, and deepening development trend. Political trust was increasingly consolidated, practical cooperation in various fields achieved clear results, and people-to-people exchanges became more connected and friendly.
In particular, the friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between Vietnam and the three localities of Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang have continuously developed and achieved substantial results.

Affirming that the Vietnamese community abroad, particularly in China, is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, Consul General Nguyen The Tung stated that the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai will do its utmost to effectively carry out tasks related to overseas Vietnamese and citizen protection in East China.
He expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community will continue to uphold the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, and mutual support, working together to build a closely-knit community. He encouraged concrete actions to promote the image of Vietnam and its people, leading the country into a new era of national ascendancy, while fostering friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China to new heights, making practical contributions to the nation's development.
On behalf of the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Shanghai, Mr. Ly Thanh Hai, Director of Trung Nguyen Legend China, expressed gratitude to the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai for organizing such a meaningful event for overseas Vietnamese. He recapped the community's notable activities over the past year.
Mr. Ly Thanh Hai highly appreciated the active support of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai in helping the business community expand its market and facilitating the lives of Vietnamese living, working, and studying in China.
