WVR - On February 5, the Vietnamese Embassy in China collaborated with local Vietnamese restaurants such as Susu and Banh mi to organize the "Vietnamese Pho Day" event.

Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh delivered the opening speech at the "Vietnamese Pho Day" held at the Embassy headquarters.

The event aimed to enhance the national brand image through the culinary excellence of Vietnamese Pho, strengthen cultural exchanges between Vietnam and China and international friends, and effectively support the Vietnamese business community in promoting their products and services.

More than 170 guests attended the event, including Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh and his spouse Hoang Thi Huong Giang, along with Ambassadors and spouses from Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Myanmar, the Philippines, Micronesia, Croatia, Latvia, Albania; spouses of Ambassadors from Singapore, Belgium, the ACC Secretary-General; and representatives from diplomatic missions in Beijing such as Laos, Russia, the USA, the UK, the EU, Germany, and New Zealand.

The program also saw the participation of numerous representatives from businesses and journalists from Chinese and Vietnamese media agencies; Vietnamese expatriates and students in China.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh stated that Pho has become a "national dish" and a cultural symbol of Vietnam. Through "Vietnamese Pho Day", the Embassy hopes to build bridges bringing international friends closer to Vietnamese culinary culture, thereby enhancing understanding and promoting people-to-people exchanges.

The Ambassador emphasized that cultural diplomacy and culinary diplomacy are approachable and practical methods that contribute to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people in the context of deep international integration. He expressed confidence that activities like "Vietnamese Pho Day" will continue to spread Vietnamese cultural values, positively contributing to strengthening long-term friendship, cooperation, and connection between Vietnam and the international community.

In the warm and friendly atmosphere of the event, delegates directly participated in the preparation of Pho and enjoyed other signature dishes such as spring rolls and banh mi.
