This year, the program is held at two locations to allow a large number of overseas Vietnamese to participate, with the first event in Malmö on February 1 and continuing in Stockholm on February 5.

The Spring in Homeland 2026 program in Malmö was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Sweden Tran Van Tuan and his wife Phi Thu Hang; Ms. Kristina Olsson, representative of the Malmö City Council; Mr. Jan Petersson, representative of the Swedish Communist Party; along with leaders of Vietnamese associations, social organizations, and many international friends who love and are interested in Vietnamese culture.

The event attracted about 600 Vietnamese expatriates living, studying, and working in southern Sweden, creating a warm, solemn, and community-bonding spring atmosphere.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Tran Van Tuan extended New Year greetings to all overseas Vietnamese and shared information about the outstanding achievements Vietnam attained in 2025.

The Ambassador stated that the domestic socio-economic situation remains stable, growth is maintained; foreign affairs have achieved significant results; and Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena continue to rise.

The Ambassador emphasized that these achievements include the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad, including those in Sweden.

The Ambassador affirmed that the Spring in Homeland program is not only an annual cultural activity but also a meaningful spiritual space for the Vietnamese community abroad, contributing to preserving national cultural identity, strengthening community bonds, and promoting friendly relations between the two countries.

The highlight of the program was a 120-minute traditional art performance by the Hanoi Drama Troupe, under the artistic direction of Director, People's Artist Trung Hieu.

The program was meticulously staged, harmoniously combining traditional cheo melodies, regional folk songs, short plays, and songs praising spring, homeland, and the country, bringing the audience a warm, familiar, and richly traditional Vietnamese Tet atmosphere.

Before the opening, the organizers arranged a space for interaction and introduction of Vietnamese cuisine with many traditional Tet dishes such as banh chung, spring rolls, gio lua, cha, sticky rice, and rustic desserts.

The culinary space attracted the attention of many overseas Vietnamese and guests, contributing to promoting the uniqueness of Vietnamese culinary culture and providing an opportunity for the community to interact and bond in the festive spring atmosphere.

The program was further enlivened by a lucky draw, featuring meaningful gifts sponsored by Vietnam Airlines and various organizations and individuals within the Vietnamese community in Sweden, bringing joy and a vibrant spring atmosphere to attendees.

Homeland Spring 2026 in Malmö took place in a warm, united, and emotional atmosphere, kicking off a series of activities that will continue in Stockholm on February 5, further spreading the spirit of unity, connection, and roots-oriented sentiment among the Vietnamese community in Sweden.
