Deputy Minister, could you share the prominent outcomes of President Lương Cường's trip to attend the High-Level General Debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly and conduct bilateral activities in the United States?
From September 21-24, President Luong Cuong and his spouse, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, attended the High-Level General Debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly and conduct bilateral activities in the United States. The trip took place at a highly significant time as both Vietnam and the United Nations commemorate their 80th anniversaries, and Vietnam and the United States celebrate 30 years of normalized diplomatic relations.

With nearly 70 diverse and effective activities, President Luong Cuong's trip was a great success, achieving all set goals at a high level, leaving significant marks on various fronts, both multilateral and bilateral.
Overall, the trip was a step in implementing Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, and proactive, comprehensive, and effective international integration on the global stage.
The speeches by various countries at the High-Level General Debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly and in President Luong Cuong's bilateral exchanges clearly showed that peace, cooperation, and development remain the dominant trends and common aspirations of the world's people. Most countries continue to uphold multilateralism, with the United Nations playing a leading role, and the UN Charter and international law remain the "anchor" for countries to promote cooperation in addressing common issues and protecting national interests. This is a crucial foundation for countries, including ours, to maintain and strengthen a peaceful and stable environment, focusing resources on development.
The messages from President Luong Cuong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation at the United Nations, this global multilateral forum, were among the positive voices supporting multilateralism, multilateral cooperation, and the central role of the United Nations, the UN Charter, and international law in addressing global issues. President Luong Cuong's speeches and those of our high-level delegation at the United Nations and with international friends brought to the world the story of Vietnam rising from the ashes of war and poverty to become a developing country with middle-income status and great potential, entering a new era of prosperity and strength.

Importantly, Vietnam's commitments are not just rhetoric but are backed by practical and concrete actions, such as continuing to be an active and responsible member in key UN mechanisms (UN Human Rights Council, International Law Commission, UNESCO bodies...), hosting major multilateral UN activities like the Opening Ceremony for the UN Convention against Cybercrime (October 2025), chairing the Review Conference of the UN Convention on Nuclear Non-Proliferation in 2026, and actively participating in peacekeeping operations...
During this occasion, Vietnam and Tuvalu signed a Joint Communiqué establishing diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Tuvalu. With this Joint Communiqué, Vietnam becomes one of the few countries with diplomatic relations with all countries worldwide and all UN members.

Regarding bilateral cooperation with the United States, President Luong Cuong and the Vietnamese delegation conveyed the message of "putting the past aside, overcoming differences, and looking to the future" as the two countries commemorate 30 years of diplomatic relations and two years of comprehensive strategic partnership.
In deeply moving meetings with veterans from both countries and progressive American friends, President Luong Cuong expressed gratitude, healing, and reconciliation after the war. His meetings with the U.S. government, Congress, state administrations, businesses, and major U.S. corporations reinforced optimism about the prospects for developing the comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of businesses and people of both countries.
With these outstanding results, how will Vietnam coordinate with partners to implement important cooperation initiatives in the future?
Building on the achievements of President Luong Cuong's trip, we will promote and concretize the following:

Firstly, continue to actively, responsibly, creatively, and effectively participate in UN activities and other multilateral forums. Through specific commitments and practical initiatives, Vietnam demonstrates its role and unique identity while making contributions commensurate with the country's role and position. In the immediate future, we will prepare thoroughly and organize the Opening Ceremony for the Cybercrime Convention next month.
Secondly, deepen relations with countries and organizations by enhancing cooperation within international and regional organizations and maintaining close, regular exchanges and cooperation on security, political, regional, and international issues of mutual concern. Effectively implement commitments to maximize international support and resources from key partners, contributing to national development.

With the United States, maintain meetings and exchanges at all levels, especially high-level, and continue to promote cooperation in key areas such as economy, trade, investment, security, defense, science and technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, transportation, and education and training. These are the pillars of bilateral cooperation. Both sides will also strive to address war consequences and continue dialogue to resolve remaining differences in bilateral relations.
