Congratulating Turkey on its significant socio-economic development achievements in recent times, President Luong Cuong expressed confidence that under the astute leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey will successfully achieve its strategic development goals.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always values strengthening its friendship and cooperation with Turkey, a leading important partner in the Middle East.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed admiration for Vietnam's remarkable socio-economic development achievements and affirmed that Turkey considers Vietnam a key partner in Asia.
The Turkish President also agreed with President Luong Cuong's proposal to promote delegation exchanges, especially at high levels in the near future, stating that both countries are at a favourable point to elevate their relations to a new height.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the significant progress in bilateral relations in recent years and agreed that there is still much potential and room to elevate relations to a new height. They committed to striving to soon achieve a bilateral trade target of 4 billion USD and to explore new frameworks to further facilitate trade and investment, including promoting a free trade agreement between the two countries.
They also discussed specific measures to enhance cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economy, trade and investment, defense and security, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two leaders also agreed to strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums and exchanged views on several international and regional issues of mutual concern.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong invited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to visit Vietnam soon. The Turkish President gladly accepted the invitation.
