PETROVIETNAM encourages U.S. partner Murphy Oil to apply advanced technology in oil and gas exploration and production in Vietnam

Recently, Le Manh Cuong, CEO of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PETROVIETNAM), held a meeting with Mr. Francisco R. Garcia, Senior Vice President of Development and Engineering at Murphy Oil Corporation (USA), to discuss cooperation results and future directions for oil and gas exploration, development, and production activities in Vietnam.
Speaking at the meeting, PETROVIETNAM CEO Le Manh Cuong congratulated Murphy and its partners on achieving significant milestones ahead of schedule, as well as a series of commercial oil and gas discoveries from recent exploration and appraisal activities in Vietnam.
CEO Le Manh Cuong affirmed that these achievements are a testament to the efforts and perseverance of Murphy and its partners in overcoming past challenges. PETROVIETNAM highly values the effective cooperation, proactive approach, and strong commitment of Murphy in implementing projects.
Emphasizing Murphy as a long-term strategic partner, PETROVIETNAM leadership expressed a desire for both parties to continue strengthening cooperation in core areas such as exploration, development, and production, as well as exploring potential exploration and production (E&P) opportunities in the international market.
In the future, PETROVIETNAM commits to continue supporting and providing maximum facilitation within its authority for Murphy to implement the development of fields and exploration and appraisal activities on schedule. PETROVIETNAM will also closely coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies in reviewing and approving important project milestones as per regulations. Additionally, PETROVIETNAM CEO encourages Murphy to apply new, advanced technologies such as Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) seismic surveys and multi-lateral drilling in oil and gas exploration and production activities in Vietnam.
On Murphy's side, Mr. Francisco R. Garcia appreciated the support and coordination of PETROVIETNAM and relevant agencies during Murphy's exploration, appraisal, and development activities of oil and gas projects in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Garcia, the achievements in recent times are the result of effective collaboration between Murphy, PETROVIETNAM, and partners. Murphy is committed to continuing to work closely with PETROVIETNAM to accelerate project timelines, particularly for Lac Da Vang B and Hai Su Vang, while also proceeding with exploration and appraisal programs in the near future.
The meeting was an opportunity for both sides to further strengthen their trusted, long-term partnership, contributing to promoting oil and gas exploration and production activities in Vietnam and ensuring national energy security.
