Ambassador Vu Trung My visits Vietnam Rescue Team in Venezuela, encourages frontline forces

WVR - On July 3 (local time), a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, led by Ambassador Vu Trung My, visited the site to encourage the officers and soldiers of the Vietnamese rescue team who are tirelessly carrying out an international humanitarian mission in the South American nation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Vu Trung My acknowledged and praised the responsibility, perseverance, and professionalism of the Vietnamese rescue forces under complex terrain, harsh weather, and high-intensity work conditions.

The Ambassador affirmed that the team's presence, together with the Vietnamese flag and uniforms, not only reflects Vietnam's tradition of compassion and its readiness to support international friends in times of hardship, but also projects the image of a benevolent and responsible nation actively contributing to international humanitarian and disaster relief efforts.

Ambassador Vu Trung My emphasized that the efforts of the rescue team are being recognized and highly appreciated by the Government, people of Venezuela, and the international community. This is also a vivid testament to the traditional friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela, while affirming the growing capability of the Vietnamese rescue forces in participating in international missions.

On behalf of the Embassy, Ambassador Vu Trung My presented essential supplies, food, and some necessary items to support the delegation in their mission, especially some agricultural products personally grown and cared for by the Embassy's staff.

Through this, the Ambassador extended greetings and encouragement to all officers and soldiers, hoping that the team members maintain their health, ensure absolute safety, and promote solidarity, closely coordinating with Venezuelan authorities and international rescue teams to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Representing the Vietnamese rescue team, Major General Pham Van Ty expressed thanks for the attention and companionship of the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela since the team's arrival. The Embassy's proactive support in coordinating with local authorities, ensuring logistics, translation, and connection with the host side has facilitated the team's quick deployment of their mission upon arrival at the scene.

Accordingly, immediately after being assigned to the heavily affected area, the Vietnamese rescue forces promptly organized reconnaissance of the site, coordinated with Venezuelan rescue forces and international teams to search for victims, provide first aid, transport the injured, and participate in disaster recovery efforts.

With specialized equipment and experience accumulated through numerous domestic and international missions, the Vietnamese rescue team is making their utmost efforts to save more lives and help the disaster-stricken people stabilize their lives soon.

Previously, the Vietnamese rescue team, comprising 124 officers and soldiers from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, arrived in Venezuela to participate in rescue operations following a strong earthquake on June 24. Upon landing at Maiquetía International Airport, the team was welcomed by Venezuelan authorities and the Vietnamese Embassy, facilitating their swift deployment to the most severely affected areas of the disaster.

The visit by the Vietnamese Embassy delegation not only encourages officers and soldiers on the frontline rescue mission but also demonstrates the close support of the Vietnamese Representative Missions for forces undertaking international duties.

Additionally, this activity contributes to deepening the Vietnam-Venezuela friendship through practical and humane actions at a time when the host country is facing severe consequences of natural disasters.
