Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan: Ghana is a key partner of Vietnam in West Africa
WVR - On September 29, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan received Ghana's Ambassador to Malaysia, concurrently accredited to Vietnam, Florence Buerki Akonor, for a farewell meeting on the occasion of her completion of her term.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan affirmed that Ghana is a key partner of Vietnam in West Africa, and Vietnam always values strengthening and developing the friendship and cooperation with Ghana.
Congratulating Ambassador Florence Buerki Akonor on her outstanding completion of her duties, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan highly appreciated the Ambassador's significant contributions to promoting bilateral relations in recent times, enhancing political trust, and expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields. Notably, in 2025, for the first time, trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 1 billion USD, making Ghana Vietnam's fourth-largest trading partner in Africa.
Ambassador Florence Buerki Akonor stated that the leaders and people of Ghana have a special affection for Vietnam, always viewing Vietnam as a shining example. The Ambassador praised the positive developments in the relationship between the two countries, especially in the fields of economy, trade, and agriculture, with Vietnam importing up to 80% of Ghana's raw cashew nut production. Ambassador Florence Buerki Akonor expressed gratitude to the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam for their support and facilitation of the Ghanaian Embassy's activities in recent times.
In a cordial atmosphere, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges, maintain regular and effective contact at all levels, and continue to improve the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, facilitating investment and business activities for enterprises of both countries.
Ambassador Florence Buerki Akonor affirmed that in any position, she will continue to strive to foster the traditional friendly cooperative relations between the two countries.
