The event was attended by Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; representatives from central agencies, departments, and sectors; partner organizations, experts in management, leadership training, and numerous entrepreneurs and business leaders.

The Vietnamese Business Leadership Development Program "CEO Vietnam New Era" is developed and operated by A11 Management Consulting Company, INSEAD - a world-renowned business school, and Ho Chi Minh City National University – one of the country's leading educational institutions.

The program is built in the context of Vietnam's economy entering a phase of strong transformation, with many new demands placed on the business community.

The development of the digital economy, innovation, green transformation, deep international integration, and changes in the global supply chain require business leaders not only to have operational experience but also to be equipped with advanced management thinking, international competitiveness, and a spirit of serving the nation's development.

Through the Program, VCCI expects to create a platform for training, connecting, and developing leadership capabilities for Vietnamese entrepreneurs, founders, senior leaders, and the next generation of business leaders.

The program aims to support businesses in enhancing management capabilities, expanding strategic vision, promoting business model innovation, and strengthening integration capabilities in a globally competitive environment.

Economic diplomacy must closely align with the needs of businesses, localities, and people

Speaking at the event, VCCI Chairman Ho Sy Hung affirmed that in the new development phase of the country, Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs are facing significant demands.

The economy requires a team of business leaders with long-term vision, modern management capabilities, innovation ability, adaptability to digital and green transformation, and the ability to deeply integrate into regional and global value chains.

These demands become even more urgent as the Party and State aim to develop the private economy into an important driving force of the economy; at the same time, promoting the building of a team of Vietnamese entrepreneurs with courage, intelligence, business culture, and a desire to contribute to the country.

Referring to the Prime Minister's directive on July 17, which requires ministries, sectors, and localities to focus on developing high-quality human resources in line with business needs; promoting links between training institutions, research institutes, and businesses, the VCCI Chairman believes that in this context, the "CEO Vietnam New Era" Program aims to contribute to developing a new generation of Vietnamese business leaders: With management capabilities, strategic thinking, social responsibility, the ability to lead businesses towards sustainable development, and competitiveness in the global business environment.

According to Ho Sy Hung, from the perspective of foreign affairs and international integration, the Program also focuses on promoting economic diplomacy to serve the country's development and enhance the international integration capacity of Vietnamese businesses.

“Economic diplomacy is only truly effective when it is closely aligned with the needs of businesses, localities, and people. Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has always prioritized and identified businesses as the center of economic diplomacy service.

The Vietnamese Representative Missions abroad have been actively supporting businesses in market connection, partner search, information access, promoting trade, investment, science and technology, innovation, and international cooperation.

However, to effectively leverage the opportunities from the country's extensive foreign relations network, Vietnamese businesses need a leadership team with management capabilities, understanding of international rules, grasp of new standards, and the ability to build long-term development strategies.

International integration also requires businesses to meet standards on environment, society, and governance, to participate more deeply in the global value chain, and to build a reputable Vietnamese brand in the international market. The 'CEO Vietnam New Era' program will play an important role in preparing the business leadership force to meet these requirements," emphasized the VCCI Chairman.

Forming an ecosystem of training - scientific research - innovation serving the business community

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, stated that the Program contributes to concretizing the policy of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025, of the Politburo on developing the private economy, which requires developing a modern, courageous, and internationally integrated team of Vietnamese entrepreneurs.

“The implementation of the Program also contributes to promoting the three-house cooperation model, strengthening the connection between the State – Schools – Businesses; gradually forming an ecosystem of training – scientific research and innovation serving the business community.

This is one of the specific activities to realize the mission of HCM National University in contributing to socio-economic development through training human resource development, scientific research, knowledge transfer, and promoting innovation."

According to Professor Sameer Hasija, Dean of Executive Education and Head of INSEAD's Asia Campus, as Vietnam continues its impressive economic development journey, developing a future-ready business leadership team will be crucial to maintaining growth momentum and fostering innovation.

“INSEAD is honored to collaborate with VCCI, A11, and Ho Chi Minh City National University to equip Vietnamese leaders with world-class management knowledge, global thinking, and the confidence to build competitive, adaptable, and sustainable organizations in an increasingly connected and rapidly changing world.”

In addition to training activities, the Program also focuses on building a network connecting business leaders, domestic and international experts, training organizations, industry associations, and policy-making agencies.

This will be a space for businesses to share practical experiences, update new knowledge, seek cooperation opportunities, and contribute initiatives for the development of the Vietnamese business community.
