Foreign Minister Sugiono highly appreciated the significance of Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung's official visit and co-chairing of the 6th Meeting of the Vietnam - Indonesia Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation – an important cooperation mechanism for exchanging and agreeing on directions to deepen, substantiate, and enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in all fields.
Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed thanks for the warm reception by Foreign Minister Sugiono, congratulated the significant achievements of the Indonesian Government and people in recent times, and expressed confidence that under the leadership of President Subianto Prabowo, Indonesia will achieve even greater success, successfully realizing the "Golden Indonesia Vision 2045", and enhancing its role and position in the region and the world.
In a friendly and sincere atmosphere, the two Foreign Ministers expressed delight at the very positive developments in the traditional friendship between the two countries over more than 70 years of diplomatic relations, especially since both sides agreed to upgrade the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during General Secretary To Lam's visit to Indonesia in March 2025. The two Ministers agreed that since the 5th Meeting, bilateral cooperation in all fields has been increasingly deepened and effective, despite global fluctuations and an unfavourable international economic environment.

Based on this, both sides are confident that bilateral trade turnover will reach the target of 18 billion USD by 2028 and even higher in the coming years. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in defense, security, and coordination in combating transnational crimes, including cybercrime, high-tech crime, and human trafficking; they encouraged the promotion of aviation connectivity and enhanced cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Notably, the two Foreign Ministers highly appreciated the close coordination and consensus in signing the Action Program to implement the Vietnam-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for 2026-2030 on this occasion. The two Ministers affirmed that this is an important new milestone in the bilateral relationship, outlining strategic cooperation directions, especially in new and important fields such as high technology, innovation, energy, and cross-border payments. Based on this, both sides agreed to leverage existing cooperation mechanisms, promptly organize a meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation to better exploit the cooperation potential between the two countries, enhance economic connectivity, and contribute positively to the development of each country in the new phase.

The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea and the Middle East conflict; they committed to continue coordinating and supporting each other at multilateral and regional organizations and forums, strengthening ASEAN's solidarity and central role. Both sides agreed to enhance coordination with ASEAN countries and China to soon achieve an effective, substantive, and internationally lawful Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC), including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
