| The launch ceremony of the Vietnamese Language Cultural Heritage Club was held at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activity Centre, Hanoi, on the morning of July 8, 2026. |
According to Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, the club aims to build a network connecting Vietnamese language enthusiasts both domestically and internationally, contributing to the preservation and promotion of national language values, spreading the love for Vietnamese to the younger generation, and promoting Vietnamese culture in the context of international integration.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Quynh Mai, Vice Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, under Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assessed the establishment of the club as a meaningful initiative in preserving Vietnamese – a core value of national cultural identity.
She emphasized that for more than 6.5 million Vietnamese living in over 130 countries and territories, Vietnamese is not only a means of communication but also a bond connecting them to their homeland and roots.
“The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese is always ready to accompany and coordinate with the club in activities to preserve and promote Vietnamese language, promote Vietnamese culture, and strengthen the connection of the overseas Vietnamese community,” Ms. Mai emphasised.
Immediately after the launch, the club will implement various activities such as the Vietnamese Language Heritage Day, forums, and seminars on preserving and promoting Vietnamese in the digital age, and Vietnamese language experience programs for youth, overseas Vietnamese, and foreigners.
Additionally, the club will collaborate with educational institutions and cultural organizations both domestically and internationally to develop training programs, exchanges, and promote Vietnamese, gradually expanding its membership network in localities and among the overseas Vietnamese community.
