Launch of the 'Tieng Viet trong tim con' contest for Vietnamese children in Europe
WVR - In response to Vietnam Culture Day on November 24, the Vietnam Cultural Center in France (CCV), in collaboration with the Association of Vietnamese Culture and Life (Assovie Vietnam), has launched the "Tieng Viet trong tim con" (Vietnamese language in my heart) contest, aimed at Vietnamese children residing in France and other European countries.

The contest aims to encourage children to use Vietnamese naturally and confidently, thereby contributing to the maintenance of the Vietnamese language and fostering a connection with the culture and homeland among the young Vietnamese generation abroad.
According to the rules, the contest is open to Vietnamese children aged 6-12 currently living in France and other European countries. Contestants are divided into two groups: VN for those with both parents being Vietnamese; V.EU for those with either parent being Vietnamese. This grouping is intended to ensure appropriate evaluation among contestants with different Vietnamese language environments.

Each contestant will create a video in Vietnamese, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes, and personally appear to present their entry. Contestants can choose one of three formats: reciting poetry or storytelling; introducing a Vietnamese dish, custom, holiday, or traditional cultural beauty; or reading a letter to relatives in Vietnam or to the homeland.
The Organizing Committee requires that presentations use 100% Vietnamese, with content that is wholesome, positive, and age-appropriate. Videos can be recorded in either portrait or landscape format, with high resolution encouraged.
Parents are allowed to assist children in filming, editing, post-production, and technical aspects. Parents also act as representatives to register, submit entries, and confirm consent for their children's participation. Each contestant is allowed to submit only one entry.
The Organizing Committee emphasizes that content, images, materials, maps, and symbols used in the video must ensure accuracy and comply with the laws of Vietnam and the host country; they must not contain content that distorts history, culture, sovereignty, borders, and territory of Vietnam.
The contest officially launched on September 8, 2026. The deadline for video submissions is October 4, 2026. The award ceremony is expected to take place on November 21, 2026, at the CCV in Paris.
Through child-friendly formats, the contest is expected to create an additional space for children to practice Vietnamese, showcase their understanding of Vietnamese culture, and strengthen connections with family and the Vietnamese community in Europe.
