The bureau said at the 41st Vietnam-China border railway conference in mid-December, the normalisation of cross-border container trains between Nanning and Ha Noi was included in the new protocol.

On November 28, the China-Europe container train carried goods from Nanning to Ha Noi for the first time in about 20 hours. Later on December 1, the train transported Vietnamese goods back to China’s Pingxiang border railway station, thus paving the way for cargo transportation between the two countries.

The Nanning Railway Bureau said within only 20 days since its launch, the China-Europe container train has conducted four trips from Ha Noi to Pingxiang with a total volume of 1,880 tonnes, demonstrating the two countries’ efforts to set up a “golden” bilateral logistics corridor.

The Fangchenggang-Dongxing railway project was launched on December 18. Once completed, Guangxi province will have three border railway routes to the China-Vietnam border, facilitating connectivity between the two countries.
