Hue City promotes cooperation and investment attraction in Hungary
WVR - On June 12, as part of the working program in the Republic of Hungary, the delegation from Hue City, led by Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of the city, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary.

The delegation was received and worked with Ambassador of Vietnam to Hungary Bui Le Thai, concurrently accredited to Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, along with Embassy staff.
During the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Khac Toan provided an overview of the significant achievements in socio-economic development of Hue City in recent times. He affirmed that Hue is focusing on comprehensive, rapid, and sustainable development, enhancing administrative reform, attracting investment, and expanding development cooperation in various fields through international integration activities.
Hue City hopes to continue receiving attention and support from the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary in promoting investment attraction, cooperation in science and technology, education and training; mobilizing resources and knowledge from the Vietnamese community in Hungary; enhancing cultural exchanges, promoting tourism, and connecting the Vietnamese community in Hungary with the city's development activities.
Ambassador Bui Le Thai highly appreciated the visit and work of the Hue City delegation. He noted that the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary have been continuously strengthened and developed positively. This is an important foundation for localities, businesses, universities, and organizations of the two countries to enhance practical and effective exchanges and cooperation.
The Ambassador emphasized that Hungary has many strengths that align with Hue City's development orientation, especially in education and training, tourism, healthcare, environmental technology, water resource management, high-tech agriculture, and sustainable urban development. He also suggested that Hue explore establishing cooperative and twinning relations with a Hungarian city with similar characteristics, thereby promoting cultural and artistic exchanges, developing high-quality tourism products from cultural heritage, and increasing tourist exchanges between the two sides.
Ambassador Bui Le Thai affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary will accompany and support Hue City in connecting with Hungarian partners, contributing to expanding cooperation between Hue and Hungarian localities, businesses, and universities in the future.

Also in the program, the delegation met and worked with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Hungary, including the Vietnamese Association, the Vietnamese Business Association, and the Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Hungary, along with some overseas Vietnamese businesses.
Chairman Nguyen Khac Toan acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions of the Vietnamese associations in Hungary in connecting the business community, promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary, as well as in charitable activities, supporting compatriots facing difficulties due to natural disasters and floods in the country and in Hue City.

The Chairman emphasized that Hue is enhancing the improvement of the business investment environment, ready to invite and create favorable conditions for domestic and foreign businesses, including those from the Vietnamese Business Association in Hungary, to explore and invest in priority areas such as supporting industries, energy, logistics, and tourism.
Representatives of the associations expressed their delight at the attention of Hue City's leaders towards the Vietnamese community, especially Hue compatriots in Hungary. They also appreciated the city's leadership for directly meeting, exchanging, and sharing information about the potential and opportunities for cooperation and investment in Hue.
Pham Ngoc Chu, Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in Hungary, thanked Hue City's leadership for facilitating the association's visit and work in Hue in May 2026 to explore cooperation opportunities in environmental protection, waste treatment technology, and related fields. He also introduced some technologies and products that are strengths of overseas Vietnamese businesses, with potential for research and cooperation in Hue, such as thermal insulation materials that save energy, waste recycling technology for civil construction materials, and health care support equipment.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Khac Toan thanked the Vietnamese Business Association in Hungary, the Vietnamese Association, and the Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Hungary for always showing affection and concern for their homeland; actively connecting and promoting cooperation between Vietnamese and Hungarian businesses, contributing to strengthening the good friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
