All three economic sectors show considerable growth
The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) for the first six months reached 10.18%, ranking seventh nationwide, leading the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region, and is among the few localities achieving double-digit growth.
All three economic sectors showed considerable growth. Specifically, industry and construction increased by 14.89%, with industry alone rising by 15.94%, continuing to be the primary growth driver; agriculture remained stable with a growth rate of 3.6%; the service sector recovered well with a growth of 7.58%; export turnover reached 22.04 billion USD.
State budget revenue achieved positive results. By June 29, total budget revenue reached 34.6 trillion VND, nearly 60% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, up 18.4% compared to the same period; domestic revenue reached nearly 31.5 trillion VND, up 20.8%, continuing to be the main driver of budget revenue growth.
Public investment disbursement was decisively and flexibly directed amid difficulties in land clearance and fluctuating construction material prices; the disbursement rate as of June 29 reached 35.3% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister, higher than the national average.
The investment and business environment continued to improve, achieving breakthrough results in attracting investment. FDI capital reached nearly 1.8 billion USD, 4.9 times higher than the same period, exceeding the annual plan; domestic investment capital exceeded 700 million USD; the number of newly established enterprises increased by 29.1%.
Notably, the province attracted many large-scale, high-tech projects with high added value and significant spillover effects, such as the expansion project of BYD's (China) electronic equipment production and Meiko Yen Quang's (Japan) electronic circuit manufacturing plant, each with a total investment of about 500 million USD.
These results continue to affirm the business community's confidence in the province's investment environment. Particularly, being among the top five localities with the best economic governance quality nationwide according to the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2025 continues to be evidence of efforts in administrative reform, improving the investment environment, and accompanying businesses.
Alongside economic development, the province continues to allocate resources for infrastructure development, completing planning and promoting key projects. Many new industrial parks have been approved for investment; inter-regional transport projects, industrial park infrastructure, and urban infrastructure are being focused on to create long-term development space and effectively exploit the potential of all three areas: Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh.

The fields of culture and society continue to record many positive results. Education maintains its position as a bright spot in the province; employment, poverty reduction, and social housing development are being comprehensively implemented.
Science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation continue to make an impact as the digital economy scale reaches over 22% of GRDP, leading the nation. Administrative reform is being strengthened through the implementation of the "Green Lane" mechanism in administrative procedures, the "Entrepreneur Coffee" model, and building a system to evaluate staff quality based on KPI indicators.
Adhering to the 11% economic growth target
Emphasizing the tasks for the remaining months of the year, Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong requested departments, sectors, and localities to continue adhering to the 11% economic growth target for 2026; focus on promoting traditional growth drivers and forming new growth drivers; accelerate the progress of key projects.
At the same time, significantly improve the investment and business environment; effectively implement the Central resolutions on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; and continue comprehensive development in culture, education, health, ensuring social welfare, maintaining national defense, security, and social order.
With a spirit of construction and action, the Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee proposed fundamental solutions for four key issues. To promote public investment disbursement, the province will closely link disbursement results with the evaluation of the head's job performance index (KPI); decisively transfer capital from delayed projects, replace weak contractors, and thoroughly apply a one-stop mechanism for handling dossiers.
With the goal of prioritizing quality and approaching commercial housing standards, the province aims to complete 10,000 social housing units in 2026. Currently, 24 projects are underway, and 12 more are expected to start by the end of the year.
To accelerate the progress of social housing projects, the province applies the "Green Lane" mechanism to cut legal procedure time by 50%; adds 100 billion VND entrusted through the Social Policy Bank to support people in buying houses; and diversifies rental housing types.

To fundamentally address land procedure bottlenecks, the province decided to launch a "180-day and night" campaign to build a land database (lasting from July 1 to December 31, 2026). It is determined to cut procedures, tighten public service discipline, and strictly handle land "brokers" causing trouble. At the same time, the province will propose a pilot model of a commune-level Land Registration Office to better serve the people.
Affirming that 2026 is the first year of implementing the 2026-2030 socio-economic development plan with a significant workload, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong emphasized: “The Provincial People's Committee, along with departments, sectors, and localities, will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, unity, innovation, and not retreating in the face of difficulties and challenges to successfully achieve the set goals, creating a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development of the province in the coming years.”
At the session, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council upheld their sense of responsibility, focused on discussing and voting to pass 35 important resolutions. This provides a solid legal framework, creating a strong motivation for the socio-economic development of the locality in the upcoming period.
