President Luong Cuong receives Boeing’s leader in Seattle

During the meeting, Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, welcomed President Luong Cuong and the Vietnamese delegation to the company's headquarters in Seattle. She considered it a great honour and a testament to the increasingly close cooperation between the United States and Vietnam.
Discussing Boeing's strategy and commitments with Vietnam, Stephanie Pope affirmed that she would continue working with the leaders of Vietnamese airlines to gradually materialize agreements between the two sides, thereby further strengthening and enhancing cooperation with Vietnamese partners.
Vietnam currently operates 17 Boeing aircraft through its national carrier, Vietnam Airlines, and Vietjet has signed contracts to purchase over 200 aircraft, with the first deliveries scheduled soon. Stephanie Pope noted that this demonstrates the significant role the Southeast Asian market plays for Boeing.
Agreeing with the views of Boeing's President and CEO, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Vietnam-U.S. relationship is developing robustly, especially after the two countries upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023. With its dynamic economy, Vietnam is poised to become a promising market for Boeing's modern aircraft.

Praising Boeing's business achievements and its cooperation and support for Vietnam, President Luong Cuong expressed his pleasure at learning that Boeing has completed procedures for delivering new aircraft to Vietnamese partners. He urged Boeing to continue close collaboration to fulfill and deliver the signed orders on schedule, with effective operational and financial plans.
President Luong Cuong expressed his admiration for Boeing's remarkable growth as a leading global aircraft manufacturer. He noted that Boeing's modern technology has been effectively utilized by Vietnamese corporations and private enterprises, enhancing economic connectivity and contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
Regarding Boeing's commitments to accompany Vietnam's development, President Luong Cuong suggested that Boeing soon research and invest in component manufacturing plants and establish a regional-scale maintenance centre for equipment, machinery, and aircraft at major airports. This would serve not only the Vietnamese market but also Southeast Asia, while enabling Vietnamese enterprises to gradually join Boeing's global supply chain, solidifying a sustainable, long-term partnership between the two sides.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam provides all favourable conditions, in accordance with the law, for U.S. investors in general and Boeing in particular to invest and conduct business effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.
