This occasion also allows Vietnam to affirm its role as an active, responsible member of the international community, expressing its viewpoints and sharing development experiences. Vietnam aims to contribute practical initiatives and solutions to common global issues such as peace, stability, sustainable development, and climate change response.
The presence of Vietnam's Head of state is even more meaningful as this year marks the 80th anniversary of the United Nations' founding and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – both entities born from the aspiration for peace, national independence, and human progress.

During the visit, the President is expected to attend the high-level session commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, deliver important speeches at the high-level general debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, and participate in a special global high-level event on climate action. The Vietnamese Head of state will also engage in meetings and interactions with various national leaders and partners.
The President will engage in numerous bilateral activities with the United States, covering politics, economics, technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. This visit coincides with the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations and the second anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development. These activities will contribute to maintaining stability and promoting comprehensive development of bilateral relations in the future.
