During the meeting, Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu welcomed the Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam and 41 senior Japanese volunteers to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; warmly congratulated the JOCVs Program on its 30th anniversary in Vietnam; expressed gratitude and high appreciation for ODA projects in general, and the JOCVs program in particular, which have significantly contributed to Vietnam's socio-economic development and strengthened the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan over the past 30 years.

Mr. Kobayashi Yosuke, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam, reported on the dispatch of Japanese volunteers to Vietnam; thanked the Government and ministries for facilitating the smooth implementation of the Program in Vietnam. Representatives of volunteers working in fields such as rehabilitation, Japanese language teaching, cultural development, and community tourism shared their experiences of living and working in Vietnam, thanked the Vietnamese Government and relevant agencies and localities for their support, expressed their love for Vietnam's land, people, and culture, and shared their intention to return after their volunteer term ends.
Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu expressed delight at the positive, increasingly comprehensive, and substantive development of the Vietnam – Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with high political trust. The Deputy Minister urged the Japanese Government and JICA to continue promoting ODA cooperation between the two countries in general, and the volunteer dispatch program in particular, expanding volunteer dispatch to fields where Japan excels and Vietnam needs, such as infrastructure construction, institutional improvement, innovation, science and technology, cultural exchange, and people-to-people exchange. He hoped the volunteers would continue to foster their understanding and love for Vietnam, acting as positive bridges contributing to the development of cooperative friendship and understanding between the peoples of the two countries after returning to Japan.
