Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang meets with Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
WVR - On the afternoon of October 24, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang met with Ms. Maream Ali A-Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, during her visit to Vietnam for the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime in Hanoi.

Welcoming Minister Maream Ali A-Misnad to Vietnam, Deputy Foreign Minister Hang affirmed that Vietnam highly values Qatar's role and position in the region and on the international stage, especially its positive contributions to mediation, dialogue promotion, and humanitarian support.
In an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, both sides expressed delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations recently. They affirmed that Vietnam and Qatar always prioritize and wish to deepen the multifaceted friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Both sides agreed to promote exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, and to enhance coordination to develop Vietnam-Qatar relations in a substantive, effective, and sustainable manner in the future.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang proposed that both sides continue to expand trade and investment cooperation in potential areas such as energy, food security, the Halal industry, and digital infrastructure. She also emphasized the significance of the Vietnam-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement, hoping Qatar would support and promote the negotiation process of this Agreement.

Minister of State Maream Ali A-Misnad expressed deep admiration for Vietnam's dynamic development achievements and affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner for Qatar in the region. She highly appreciated the significance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Qatar (October 2024) and committed to closely coordinating with Vietnam to effectively implement the outcomes of the visit, expanding cooperation in areas where both sides have strengths and needs.
Minister of State Maream Ali A-Misnad affirmed Qatar's support for the early promotion of negotiations on the Vietnam-GCC Free Trade Agreement. She encouraged Qatari businesses to explore investment and business opportunities in Vietnam and expressed readiness to accompany Vietnam on its upcoming development journey.
