Dear Comrades and Colleagues,
On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Foreign Affairs sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2026), on behalf of the Party Committee Standing Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Leadership, I warmly send to all generations of officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers who have been and are working in the Foreign Affairs sector, external relations agencies, and local external affairs agencies my sincere regards, deep gratitude, and best wishes!
In the midst of the Autumn Revolution of 1945, the Foreign Affairs sector was born, honoured and proud to be directly guided and trained by President Ho Chi Minh in his role as the first Minister of Foreign Affairs. Over 81 years, under the light of the Party, generations of diplomats have successively written a glorious diplomatic tradition, serving the Fatherland, serving the People, and making important contributions to the Revolutionary cause of the Nation. We respectfully remember the great President Ho Chi Minh and express our deep gratitude to the previous generations who have dedicated and sacrificed for the country's external affairs and diplomacy.
We commemorate this year's Traditional Day of the sector at a particularly meaningful time. The 14th National Party Congress has, for the first time, identified foreign affairs and international integration as a crucial, regular task. This is a recognition of the important role and contributions of foreign affairs and diplomacy, as well as a great honour and responsibility of the entire sector before the Party, the State, and the People. At the recent 33rd Diplomatic Conference, General Secretary, President To Lam, and other Party and State leaders evaluated that foreign affairs and international integration have been proactively and synchronously implemented, achieving many important results; at the same time, recognizing that the team of officials working in foreign affairs and diplomacy always demonstrates courage, responsibility, and loyalty.
The achievements are the result of the persistent, responsible, and intellectual contributions of each comrade, party member, and worker amidst the multitude of tasks posed by the increasingly high demands of the new situation. I sincerely acknowledge and warmly commend the spirit of responsibility, dedication, and relentless efforts of the comrades. I especially send regards to the comrades working at Vietnamese Representative Missions abroad. Far from the Fatherland, far from family, many comrades work in difficult areas, some in conflict zones, natural disasters, and epidemics, yet they persistently stay and complete the assigned tasks well, serving as a reliable bridge between the country and international friends and a solid support for the Vietnamese community in the host country.
Dear Comrades,
Reflecting on the glorious tradition to deeply understand the great responsibility of the sector for the future of the Country. The country is entering a new era of development. The tasks ahead are very heavy, but also very glorious for the Foreign Affairs sector. I deeply believe that, with the tradition of Revolutionary Vietnamese diplomacy, with the courage, intelligence, patriotism, and unity of all comrades, the Foreign Affairs sector will rise with a new spirit, new momentum, new actions, striving to innovate thinking, thoroughly grasping the motto of deep understanding, doing right, doing to the end, ensuring discipline in execution, contributing effectively and practically to the development of the country in the new era, worthy of the trust of the Party, the State, and the People.
On this occasion, I wish you and your families health, happiness, and much success!
Sincerely,
Le Hoai Trung
Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs
