Before boarding, guests were warmly welcomed with a traditional dance performance by the Vietnamese community in Belarus. The first passenger to purchase a ticket for this historic flight was honored with meaningful souvenirs.
The inaugural flight, bearing Belavia's flight number, took off at 12:30 AM on March 20 (local time) from Minsk and is expected to land in Nha Trang at 3:30 PM the same day. All 270 seats on the flight were fully booked.
According to Vladimir Barkun, Deputy General Director in charge of Marketing and Foreign Economic Affairs at Belavia, this is the longest route in the airline's network, covering nearly 9,300 km, with an estimated flight time of around 11 hours.
“The launch of regular flights allows travelers to avoid lengthy layovers. They can choose to purchase tickets as part of a package tour or plan their own itinerary,” Barkun stated, expressing hope that the Minsk - Nha Trang - Minsk route will become one of the airline's most popular destinations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung emphasized: “The inauguration of the regular flight is an important realization of the high-level agreements reached when the two countries upgraded their relations to a Strategic Partnership during General Secretary Tô Lâm's state visit to Belarus in May 2025.
The direct flight not only serves the travel needs of tourists, businesspeople, and Vietnamese living and studying in Belarus but also provides an opportunity to enhance people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. Belarus is a traditional friend of Vietnam, and both countries are looking forward to exploring new horizons of cooperation.” Ruslan Varankov, Director of Public Diplomacy at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that the bilateral relationship has much room for broad development:
“Currently, we are considering the possibility of establishing a tractor assembly facility in Vietnam. Infrastructure projects using Belarusian equipment are also of great interest. Additionally, cooperation in logistics and tourism is full of promise, especially in the current geopolitical context, with Vietnam being a very attractive destination for Belarusian tourists.

Air connectivity will help link the people of the two countries, along with opportunities for cooperation and business. The initial plan for this route was to start operations on March 31, but due to significant interest from travel companies, Belavia decided to inaugurate it earlier.”
From March 31, the route will operate with a frequency of 3 flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Notably, the aircraft used for the first flight to Nha Trang features a special livery commemorating Belavia's 30th anniversary.
