APEC 2027 National Committee's Communications and Culture Subcommittee conducts working visit to Phu Quoc
WVR - On the morning of July 4, in the special zone of Phu Quoc, An Giang province, the working delegation of the Subcommittee on Communications and Culture, APEC 2027 National Committee, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Head of the APEC 2027 Communications and Culture Subcommittee, held a meeting with the People's Committee of An Giang province, chaired by Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the preparation and organization of the APEC Year 2027 conferences and activities in the Phu Quoc special zone.

Also attending were Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Phan Xuan Thuy; leaders of departments and divisions under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, leaders of Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, along with members of the APEC 2027 Communications and Culture Subcommittee, representatives of provincial departments, agencies, and leaders of the Phu Quoc special zone.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman and Director of the An Giang Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Khanh Hiep reported on the progress of propaganda activities and preparations for the APECYear 2027.
Accordingly, external information efforts about APEC have been comprehensively enhanced with more than 200 news articles, reports, and features published monthly on digital platforms and public media in the area.
Additionally, the province has intensified public opinion orientation, provided official information about the APEC Year 2027, developed APEC 2027 special pages in Vietnamese and English, invested in digital communication infrastructure, and upgraded telecommunications and Internet infrastructure at key locations and accommodations.
To date, An Giang has organized numerous communication campaigns about the APEC Year 2027, prepared human resources, developed communication products, promoted local culture and tourism, and coordinated to ensure security and safety for the activities of the APEC 2027 Senior Officials' Week.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Head of the APEC 2027 Communications and Culture Subcommittee, praised the efforts of An Giang province and Sun Group in preparation; she suggested further research into solutions for investing in modern television, audio, and visual infrastructure and control centres to ensure conditions for domestic and international press operations in 2027.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang requested that units promptly complete plans for organizing the Press Centre, accommodation, transportation, and conditions for journalists, while compiling recommendations beyond their authority to report to the APEC 2027 National Committee for timely consideration and direction.
Thorough preparation not only meets the requirements for organizing activities in the APEC Year 2027 but also contributes to spreading the image of a friendly, peaceful, and stable Vietnam, as well as promoting the traditional cultural and tourism features of the Phu Quoc special zone and An Giang province to international friends.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that immediately after the survey, agencies within the APEC 2027 Communications and Culture Subcommittee will focus intensively and coordinate closely to effectively implement the tasks under the Subcommittee's responsibility, on schedule.
At the meeting, members of the APEC 2027 Communications and Culture Subcommittee and leaders of An Giang province's departments and sectors discussed investment plans for television and radio infrastructure to serve APEC 2027.
Delegates suggested that the locality soon coordinate with Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, and specialized units to agree on plans from the design stage, ensuring synchronization and avoiding adjustments upon project completion.

Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the APEC 2027 Communications and Culture Subcommittee, concluded the meeting, acknowledging and highly appreciating the efforts of An Giang province and related units in accelerating the progress of projects serving the APEC 2027 Senior Officials' Week. He urged An Giang province and related units to closely coordinate with the APEC 2027 Communications and Culture Subcommittee in preparation for the APEC Year 2027.
Previously, the working delegation surveyed key projects and facilities serving the APEC 2027 Senior Officials' Week in the Phu Quoc special zone, such as the APEC Conference Centre, the International Press Centre, the APEC Multi-purpose Performance Hall, event venues, and some hotels for journalists.
