Vietnamese community in Belarus celebrates Lunar New Year 2026

Approximately 300 attendees participated in the program, including all Embassy staff and their families, as well as a large number of Vietnamese residents living, studying, and working in Minsk and surrounding areas.
In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung informed the community about the nation's proud achievements over the past year, particularly the outcomes of the 14th Party Congress, which has ushered the nation into a new era.
The Ambassador emphasized that the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Belarus have been elevated to a Strategic Partnership. This is expected to create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, work, and thrive in Belarus.
The Ambassador highly appreciated the community's positive contributions in 2025, especially activities promoting the image of Vietnam and fostering solidarity and friendship between the two nations.
Notably, the movement to honour the Vietnamese language and the diverse activities of the Vietnamese language class have been standout highlights of the community's initiatives. The Ambassador expressed his emotions over the community's solidarity and mutual support, especially their timely contributions to help compatriots in Vietnam overcome the aftermath of natural disasters in the Northern and North Central regions.
The Ambassador affirmed that the Embassy will always accompany and support the community in deeply integrating into the local society, protecting their legitimate rights and interests, and building a stronger community that remains connected to their homeland.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Association in Belarus, Ms. Le Bich Cham shared heartfelt sentiments about the community's affection for their homeland. She expressed deep gratitude to the Embassy for its continuous support and affirmed that the Vietnamese community will continue to be an important bridge, contributing to the solidarity and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Belarus.

In the warm atmosphere of the early days of the New Year, Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung awarded Certificates of Merit to students and scholars who achieved outstanding results in the past academic year. Two groups, the "Vietnamese Community Arts Team in Belarus" and the "Vietnamese Language Class," were also honoured for their positive contributions to the community's initiatives.
Another meaningful activity was the distribution of red envelopes containing New Year wishes to children by the wives of embassy staff.

Throughout the program, traditional cultural performances, organized and performed by the community and children, brought a lively atmosphere rich in national cultural identity, dispelling the cold of the Belarusian winter.
"Homeland Spring - Year of the Horse 2026" concluded with the joy of reunion and community bonding. The event was not only an opportunity for expatriates to meet, visit, and share but also a great source of motivation, empowering everyone to overcome challenges, thrive in life, and continue contributing to the development of the host country while strengthening the friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Belarus.
