Greece hopes to further enhance labour cooperation with ASEAN countries. The early signing of labour cooperation agreements will better ensure the rights and interests of both workers and employers while supporting the control of legal migration, which is currently a priority for the Greek Government and the EU, as the new EU Migration and Asylum Pact took effect in June 2026.

Speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong noted that following the meeting with the Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum in March 2026, the Embassy has communicated with relevant domestic agencies regarding Greece's interests in labour cooperation with Vietnam. She expressed hope that both sides will continue discussions on this matter and soon reach a labour cooperation agreement to facilitate the deployment of Vietnamese workers to Greece, thereby promoting effective and substantive bilateral cooperation.
The Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum agreed with the Ambassador's proposal and tasked relevant units to continue closely coordinating with Vietnam and other ASEAN countries to expedite the signing of labour cooperation agreements.
