Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan also held meetings with Stephane Miezan, Chairman of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), Rui Livramento, Chief of Staff of the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and visited the memorial site of late President of Ghana Kwame Nkrumah.
During the Political Consultation, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan and Deputy Minister James Gyakye Quayson exchanged information on major developments in each country, reviewed and discussed comprehensive measures to expand bilateral cooperation, and coordinated support on international forums.

Expressing appreciation for the historical ties and excellent cooperation between Vietnam and Ghana, which were founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Ghana's first President Kwame Nkrumah in the 1960s, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan hoped both sides would enhance political trust through exchanges at all levels and better exploit economic cooperation potentials to support each other in achieving long-term development goals.
Recognizing Ghana as Vietnam's fourth-largest trading partner in Africa, with trade turnover surpassing 1 billion USD for the first time in 2025, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan suggested both sides continue to explore and diversify import-export goods, establish mechanisms for exchanging market information, policies, and cooperation opportunities in various fields.

The Deputy Minister also proposed that both sides promote the appointment of Honorary Consuls in each country and negotiate and sign foundational economic cooperation agreements such as the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement and the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement.
Ghana's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs James Gyakye Quayson praised Vietnam's impressive socio-economic development achievements and agricultural development model, expressing a desire for Vietnam to assist in transferring experience, techniques, and technology for developing value chains in rice, cashew, rubber, aquaculture, etc., to help Ghana reduce raw material exports, add value to domestically produced goods, ensure food security, and boost exports.

The two Deputy Ministers also agreed to promote cooperation in potential areas such as defense, security, education and training, telecommunications, information technology, infrastructure development, logistics, and expand connections between the business communities of both countries through the potential establishment of a Bilateral Business Council.
At the session, on behalf of the governments of both countries, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan and Deputy Minister James Gyakye Quayson signed a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

During the meeting with GNCCI Chairman Stephane Miezan, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan suggested that GNCCI consider signing a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), assist in resolving some difficulties faced by Vietnamese businesses investing and operating in Ghana, and enhance the organization of networking, seminars, and trade and investment promotion activities between the business communities of both countries.
GNCCI Chairman Stephane Miezan shared insights on Ghana's competitive advantages due to political stability, a young workforce, and a relatively developed education system, calling on Vietnamese businesses to increase investment and operations in Ghana in fields such as agriculture, mineral extraction, infrastructure, electric vehicles, and renewable energy.

During the meeting with the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan praised AfCFTA's role as the world's largest free trade area by membership in promoting integration and sustainable development in Africa.
Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan proposed that the AfCFTA Secretariat consider establishing mechanisms for exchanging and sharing information and experiences with Vietnam's ministries, sectors, and trade and investment agencies, supporting Vietnam in accessing and expanding markets and negotiating trade with member countries.

Chief of Staff of the AfCFTA Secretariat Rui Livramento informed the delegation about the implementation progress of AfCFTA, the African Union's trade relations development orientation with external partners, and expressed readiness to establish a dialogue mechanism between the Secretariat and Vietnam's relevant agencies.
