With more than 300 documents and images, the thematic exhibition “Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Man” introduces visitors to President Ho Chi Minh - the great national liberation hero and an outstanding cultural figure of Vietnam.

He devoted his entire life to the cause of national independence, freedom, democracy, peace, and social progress. He also embodied the essence and spirit of the Vietnamese nation, a crystallisation of morality, intellect, courage and conscience of both the nation and the era.

The exhibition is presented in five parts: The man who sought the shape of the nation; Resistance is certain to triumph, nation-building is certain to succeed; The man with the red pencil, guiding step by step, hour by hour; Ho Chi Minh - a symbol of global solidarity; and President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament - the torch that lights the way.

Alongside the exhibition, the Ho Chi Minh Museum has designed a ceremonial space introducing the achievements of the country on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (2 September 1945 - 2 September 2025).

At the centre of this ceremonial space stands a bust of President Ho Chi Minh. Behind it is a striking red backdrop featuring symbolic images of cultural relics, national heritage and scenes of the Vietnamese land and people. These images are arranged in sequence to reflect the continuity and development of Vietnamese culture across historical periods.

A special highlight on the backdrop is President Ho Chi Minh’s statement from his speech at the opening of the first National Cultural Conference on 24 November 1946: “Culture lights the way for the nation”.
