The information was confirmed by an official of the Vietnamese Embassy in the US.
Both cases live in Washington state which has so far recorded the highest death toll in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first case, a 46-year-old woman, lives in Seattle city. She was suspected of getting virus infection in a nursing home on March 3.
She was immediately admitted to a medical centre for check-ups, and later tests proved she was infected with the virus.
The woman died after a week-long admission to the hospital.
The second case is a senior citizen living in a nursing home in the state. He had a high temperature on March 12 and tested positive for the virus. The patient was hospitalized for intensive care but died in less than 24 hours afterward.
The nursing home had previously reported first COVID-19 deaths, but those who had close contact with the infected patients were not required to have check-ups if they did not show any flu-like symptoms.
Both cases are the first Vietnamese deaths of the coronavirus in the US, and also the first in the world.
